Sheek officially gone. Unless Egbuono is an absolute beast and Shaka mixes and matches with him and Royce as a small ball 5, I'm quite nervous about 8 and 18 being the first bigs off the bench. I'd like to see another vet big added, but I am not sure how feasible that is. #mubb

Would like to see other teams in the Big East besides St. John’s and UConn beef up their non-conference schedules like this, just so we don’t have to put up with the bitching in March when Big East teams are underseeded.

@SamVan57 I just hope we never redshirt a player again. Let them try to play right away and if they’re not ready and lose a year of eligibility over it, so be it. Chances are low you’ll have the guy for 5 years anyway.

@jonjonjaquan I am VERY excited he's on the squad. I know that with his length, DO can have a defensive impact because we have seen it, which is why I have him as the starter. NM has length too. I'm just in wait and see mode to see how he fares against P6 competition before naming him starter.

@JohnWillkom I still think there could be an adjustment to the speed, size, and athleticism of Big East play. With limited opportunities, his numbers against high majors weren't great. Looking forward to an intense training camp competition bringing out the best in everyone.

@MubbOldtimer While different players, the likes of Thomas, Chartouny, and Koby Mcewen all had their struggles when moving up in competition. I am in wait and see mode. Great news for the program if he does earn that starting spot.

One nice thing about these #mubb additions is they should elevate the games of e/o on the squad. Seemingly 4-5 guys gunning for the starting spot vacated by Chase. Same thing with the bigs. I’d say Sheek is first guy off the bench, but hopefully this lights a fire under 8 and 18.
