@Jim22Palmer @VonManty Seriously, my favorite game ever. As a Brewers fan on the east coast i made the last two games (after you won the double-header on Friday.) Sorry about the loss, but the number of Hall of Famers connected to that game is still amazing! One of my best memories ever.

Just leaving Milwaukee after the 150 year Anniversary celebration of Jockey. Not too bad for a small company from Kenosha. I forgot how enjoyable Milwaukee is now that I don’t have to get Yount, Molitor, cooper, Ogilvie, etc out. Unbelievable new convention center with the friendliest people ever.

With NCAAT expansion, the Big East should be thinking of how it gets 7 teams. Beyond UConn/SJU/Nova, I like Marquette, Providence, Xavier, Creighton in different ways. MU with James and quality portal IDs in Minnesale/Fru. Hodgson has loaded up. Richard Pitino big leap ahead.

Indiana's potential starting lineup if they land the No. 1 overall pick: PG: Tyrese Haliburton SG: Andrew Nembhard SF: AJ Dybantsa PF: Pascal Siakam C: Ivica Zubac The Pacers would be the clear-cut favorite in the East next season if they win the lottery.

@happymiamifan @roosterbra812 @hobocouture0 @JWeinbachNBA The top 4 in the 03 draft were probably better prospects. D Wade carried a bum ass Marquette team to the final 4 and was picked 5th He is not a seamless fit. The pacers would need a shooter like Nesmith out there with Zubac not shooting 3s

@SethDavisHoops @hhqsports Something that is "unsustainable" may work for several years before it finally crashes. Unsustainability does not have to be, nor is it usually, immediate. (Eventually, the only donors who will be happy trying to buy championships are those that succeed. The rest may bail out.)

People keep using the word "unsustainable" to describe the transfer market in college hoops. I do not think this means that they think it means. The system is actually working (sort of). My column for Hoops HQ @hhqsports hoopshq.com/seth-davis/uns…

@shaka_apologist Not sure I agree it is that important, sorry. Season ticket holders will likely come regardless because they already spent the money. The walk-in and standing room sales show more and that is likely where we are down. As to "Top 20"...only because we have a relatively big arena.

@MubbOldtimer I think that’s the point. It was a horrendous season and there was a massive drop in attendance, and yet, we were still top 20 nationally. A good indicator of the overall health of the program despite a rough season. I expect that number to jump back up this year.

@RonInTheKee @JimMcIlvaine Perhaps but the OP was taking issue with the specific word "committed". Not sure how what anyone says about coaches changes anything in that regard. (BTW, the coaching "contracts" have buyouts. Do the contracts for players?)

@MubbOldtimer @JimMcIlvaine Under contract. Same thing. Sounds like it means something…doesn’t. Promise we could find instances of coaches saying they were “committed” to the kids they were recruiting.

Can we stop referring to them as being "committed" when that suggests they won't leave for somewhere else?

The number of changes I have lived with in CBB is huge. Heck, when I started watching freshman could not play. (It gave us another game to watch though!) The continued expansion of the tournament is ridiculous. Will it drive me away...no. But these things add up. #mubb

@BigYapman75837 @hi_i_am_jimz @EvanMiya Let's try this. If a random team lost five 5*Star players in the portal, but signed five 4*Star players, did they get better? By your logic we should only look at the players they signed and ignore who they lost. How does that matter on its own. The portal door swings both ways.

This is why Evan Miyas list are a joke How has a team that has 1 transfer that will get real minutes more heavily impacted by the transfer portal, than teams like nova, Creighton, Providence, DePaul, Xavier that have had to put together the majority of their roster with the transfer portal The answer is, they aren’t Clearly something very wrong in his formula

@CrackedSidewlks You're a data guy, I live in Missouri. "Show Me" this is true. I just don't buy that it is, at least yet. A strong coach and AD can do everything a GM does. And while this is unprovable, the potential for disconnect between GM and coach is huge, which will have negative impact.

@BigYapman75837 @jayslive1878 There is no retention in these ratings. Only transfers. In and out. If you gain two 4-star players that means shit if you also lost four 4-stars. MU only lost 3-star level players and gained a 4 and a 5. It cant be more simple.

That sucks. We won't likely ever know the reasons but the most obvious is that Sheek hoped for more playing time/a larger role. There is no vacuum in the portal. As much as we applaud the incoming transfers, they were always going to have an impact on the current players. #mubb
