I've worked with many non-clinicians with this exact attitude over the years. They never seem to share the same zeal for discharges as they do for actually treating patients. And they always seem to patronisingly share these views with juniors with no discharge powers anyway.

Those on BP or rate limiting meds may not compensate as you'd expect 2nd ALSO some v.pressors cause bradycardia & some anti-arrhythmics cause hypotension. Medicine ain't easy!

I survived it. I got through some really, really mentally tough periods, stuck with it and made it through despite fully wanting to give up. Getting my LLM with distinction was an added bonus (and one of the sources of toughness).

Officially completed MRCP(UK) and can call myself a physician apparently! Unbelievably grateful to Allah SWT for getting me through a really tough journey with PACES. And I can't thank my family and friends enough for the endless practise, encouragement and belief.
