It’s official: former Senator Tom Harkin has endorsed @turek4iowa for the United States Senate. What a poetic and beautifully fitting endorsement from the man who fought for the Americans with Disabilities Act to be supporting a candidate whose success in life has only been possible because of that legislation.

I was born with spina bifida because of my father’s exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. I know firsthand that wars don’t end when the bombs stop. These decisions have generational consequences. In the Senate, I’ll oppose unnecessary, forever wars and stand with our military heroes and their families.

Iowa really does look competitive this year. It's a combination of Trump fatigue, economy/inflation, and tariffs crushing farmers. Dem pickup opportunities include: Governor, US Senate, three House races (dream big and its all four), and its WAY cheaper than other states

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of speaking at the Linn County Homeless Systems Initiative breakfast — and left more motivated than ever. While other Iowa communities are seeing homelessness increase, Linn County is one of the few seeing a decrease. The results speak for themselves. But with federal cuts threatening housing assistance and a $1M+ local funding gap, we can’t let up. Huge thanks to J’Nae Peterman and all of our community partners for supporting this critical work.

A Republican just filed to challenge me for Linn County Supervisor in District 2. Since my appointment, I’ve helped pass a first-of-its-kind data center ordinance so the world’s largest corporations answer to our community, fought to protect mental health services, housing, and food security for our most vulnerable neighbors, and worked to be a responsible steward of your tax dollars. Linn County is on a path of responsible progress. I’ll keep fighting for the future we all deserve and working to make Linn County a place where young people want to put down roots and build their lives.
