I always get paid if I do something work related. This shouldn't be an issue of discussion. Look I go from client to client. If I can't take my lunch due to time constraints, I let my supervisor know, and he compensates me an extra hour. It's not a big deal. Sometimes I use my personal vehicle, no problem, I log my mileage, and I get compensated for every single mile. I require industry specific certifications, do you know when I study? When I'm in the office, on the clock. It's not a big deal. If an employer cannot compensate you fairly, then the place of business should not operate. You're not a slave, don't work for free, because yes unpaid work is slavery. @grok, correct me if I'm wrong.
