Many Christians are solely seeking a worship experience in a service or concert. The best worship experience you’ll ever experience is being alone with God in prayer, in His word, and praising Him.

What a beautiful time of being in the Lord’s presence this morning in our worship workshop. It’s a joy to be a part of the ministry! Jesus is worthy.

I always find it irritating when guys who don’t bear the long-term responsibility of preaching weekly for a single congregation criticize guys who do. Even if the critique is valid, it’s still like a broadcaster criticizing a coach. It’s easy to find errors, but when there’s no skin in the game, no shared experience, no depth of understanding, the critique is usually superficial or even strange. For example, this particular criticism is aimed at expositors who are faithful, but cold and dispassionate. Just who are these supposed professor/shepherds with no love for Christ or their people? Is this a major problem in American Evangelicalism? Evangelical preachers are much more likely to give you empty sentiment, pop therapy, and even heresy than heartless-but-accurate exposition. All due respect to Paul Washer, but it’d be far better for him to exemplify consistent pastoral ministry in a local church than to criticize regular expositors from the comfort of his low-responsibility itinerate platform. And this goes triple for all you content creators online who think you’re doing something awesome with your sophomoric theology and anonymous followers. You know who you are…

The reason many are so “grieved” about this wonderful man of God is because the service doesn’t line up with what you’re “comfortable” with. Any time someone does something that doesn’t fit your (cough…Caucasian) mold, you are ready to publicly name and shame everyone. It’s not faithfulness. It’s insecurity. Sadly, this why so many churches look the way they do. Segregated and dying.

RE: Pastor Kenny Baldwin and Crossroads Baptist Church A public platform requires public scrutiny. Crossroads Baptist Church had a Friday night service that is blowing people's minds that have known Bro. Baldwin for decades. Here is the question: How far is a well-known preacher that has enormous influence over our young people allowed to drift away from the old paths before it's OK to say something? And before anyone asks me "Did you call Bro. Baldwin...?" my answer is “no.” Am I supposed to ask him if the video is real? To double check to make sure it is not AI?There's nothing to talk about. The video has already been viewed over 20K times in just a few days. The word is out. The secret is out. Now people know. A preacher that is known far and wide and invited in to preach to our young people should openly and boldly announce when they make a major shift away from what they have always been. I am not talking about their right to do as they wish, or as they see fit; I'm talking about an obligation to declare it so pastors and churches are not blindsided by early morning text messages and social media posts revealing that their church is NOTHING like it once was. That their church is NOTHING like the churches they are preaching in and that their church is NOTHING like what they portray themselves to be. I'm getting weary of the switch and bait happening in our pulpits. You think you're getting one thing, and you're actually getting something completely different. It is a free country; you can do what you want to and be what you want to. As an Independent Baptist, you can paint your steeple purple with orange polka dots for all I care. But to go to conservative, solid, old-fashion Baptist churches that are trying to hold the line, and pretend to be like them when you CLEARLY are not, that is just wrong and it cannot be allowed to continue unchallenged. To stand on the platforms of churches and challenge their young people to stand in the old paths when your church looks like a nightclub on Friday night is beyond comprehension. It is indefensible. It is heartbreaking. One thing we can learn from this; in the future, before you invite a man to come preach for you, no matter how long you've known him, you've got to vet him all over again. Go look at his church's livestreams. People change. Their churches change. Their ministry philosophy changes. Their position on a host of issues change. Their music changes. But for some reason, they do not feel the need to tell you. That is what this post is about. See the service here. It gets wild at the 1 hour 56 minutes mark: youtube.com/live/JPz9L5VcP…

I’m grateful for how the Lord used my friend @SammyRoberson3 this past week. He preached the teen camp we attended as well as the morning service at Hillview yesterday. I’m thankful for friends in ministry that love Jesus, preach the Word, and have the joy of the Lord!
