Pro-Palestinian criminals have been smashing up buildings for MONTHS. Now they’ve crashed a van into a factory and injured police officers with a sledgehammer. Wanton destruction proudly displayed. Bragged about. To a racist soundtrack. Grim. twitter.com/Pal_action/sta…

Can't say this enough; Elon Musk's menace to democracy is intolerable. He's using the largest & most influential platform in the democratic world to stoke racial conflict and civil breakdown - in his own posts & what X promotes. Democracies can no longer ignore this.

I will never forgive Elon Musk for allowing this app to deteriorate into a cesspit of racism, transphobia, and abuse. The amount of bigots who’ve been emboldened and allowed a platform to spread their hateful lies is just insane.

So in the last 48 hrs: - 17 year old killer confirmed not Muslim, despite twitter claiming otherwise. - Man carrying knife at riots wasn’t Muslim, despite twitter claiming otherwise. - Algerian boxer not trans, despite twitter claiming otherwise Misinformation on this app has caused serious damage both online and in real life. Elon Musk has to put a stop to this.

Hey everyone! Check out this @UNRWA employee. Now check out what else he gets up to. Plenty more where that came from. So glad the UK has started funding them again.

@hughosmond You haven’t accounted for environmental costs derived from continued use of fossil fuels. More challenging to quantify accurately, yes, and obviously a macro question rather than micro, but estimates of societal cost of unchecked climate change dwarf policy choices such as this

The average solar panel installation costs around £7,000 (Which Mag) and, to be able to use power at night when you need it, you need a battery for around £5,000. It could "save" you around £660 per year at current prices. (This claim itself is open to question but it's industry standard so I'll leave it) The cost to borrow the money to do this would be around £1,000 per year (8.25%) so you'd lose money for ever. For ever. If you bought it from savings, you'd lose about £600 per year in lost interest so a net surplus of £60 per year, so break even would be well over 100 years. And it basically won't work between November and February in the UK or when it's cloudy for extended periods, so you'll still need 100% grid back up (or a generator burning fossil fuel). Anyone not understand why green grifters like @DaleVince need Government to use laws and taxes to force people to buy this miss-sold technology that is wholly unfit for purpose in the UK? Anyone not understand that attempting to use it to replace fossil fuels for grid-scale generation is not only insane (given UK winter performance) but also entirely uneconomic? @Ed_Miliband Anyone not understand that in addition there is the multi-hundred billion pound cost of changing the grid to accept solar farm power, which is unaffordable? @RachelReevesMP

@Sammy_Peeps @Mr_Andrew_Fox Wrong again. It isn’t an estimate and it’s based on faulty logic as the thread posted at you clearly showed. You can’t lie straight in bed.

For onlookers who don’t realise how ridiculous it is, here’s a few errors in the claims which they say motivated their demands: 1. The ICJ report didn’t say there was “plausible genocide”. The ICJ president even publicly set the record straight due to malicious and idiotic lies such as those seen in this letter 2. The UN linked report clarified there is no famine. They undercounted the trucks 3. The Lancet figure was not “a study” but a letter they published with an “illustrative figure” according to the author of the letter himself.

@hearnimator @Mr_Andrew_Fox It’s obviously illustrative - no-one’s suggesting they’ve gone out and counted all the bodies! It’s an estimate, and they’ve set out a method to derive it which seems reasonable to me, so not really sure what your objection is (other than not liking the findings!)

@Sammy_Peeps @Mr_Andrew_Fox It’s not a “scientific estimate” and it’s not by the Lancet. It’s a letter to the Lancet and the author admits the figures are “illustrative”. You are wrong on all counts and the letter itself is claptrap, as the analysis posted to you clearly shows.

@Mr_Andrew_Fox @hearnimator So on one hand we have The Lancet, the world’s most respected medical journal, making its best attempt at an scientific estimate of total direct and indirect deaths in Gaza; on the other, a guy on Twitter who spends his time “debunking” Amnesty and UN. Who to believe..?!

@Sammy_Peeps @hearnimator And here’s an epic line by line takedown of that spurious bullshit
Aizenberg@Aizenberg55

🧵@TheLancet letter ridiculously claiming Gaza fatalities could be as high as 186,000 due to “indirect deaths” has key fatal flaw: Hamas casualty numbers already include indirect deaths! Authors double count deaths with multiplier. Here is Part II debuking fraudulent letter: 1/

@CarsonDejonge @TimKosterNL @Tribalgooner91 I can see why it was given. Dumfries sticks a leg out and doesn’t get the ball, and there’s contact. It’s a bit soft though, I accept that. It’s not handball by Saka though, even if it hits his hand as there’s no intent. The var got that right.
