On the final day of session, known as “Sine Die,” I offered 8 commonsense amendments to strengthen election integrity in H.B. 5001, the Democrats’ bill expanding universal mail-in voting in Connecticut. Every single amendment was rejected on a party-line vote.

The Senate standoff continues: Senators are now debating a 100+ section bill covering everything from movie tax credits to Medicaid rates for optometrists. Tucked inside is a tweak to a measure that would allow a voter to automatically receive mail ballot applications every year.
