@EitanIngall Planning to fix or fuse, long-term? Reduction looks pretty good now. If long-term plan is fusion, may be able to take the K wires out after six weeks and see how they do. Doesn’t change the long game. If the plan is to try to fix, ex fix avoids wires across the joint.

Because of beat up lateral soft tissues, felt he needed a reduction. Shanz pin laterally- Distract, valgus and medial translation. 3 wires to hold. Will come back once soft tissues are ready.

Walked a more junior resident through an entire femoral nail for the first time today. 3 months into 3rd year. Definitely a testament to the excellent training we get here. Also, being able to finally start teaching what you’ve been taught is a wonderful feeling.
