We haven’t seen very much S response for soybean on mid to fine textured soils, but I would repeat Adam in saying if there’s going to be any response, it would be at this site. The S in kmag is sulphate, which should be available for uptake.

Beans on sharp sand that were turning brown before last weekends rain are very slow to recover. Noticing the nodules are mostly brown when squeezed. Thinking the rhizobia activity is pretty low from cooking; perhaps a shot of N would help bring them back around?

Our lab has been analyzing the texture of 60 Ontario ag soils I collected for a sulfur soil test trial. After a thorough blend in a mixer, we track how much soil (beginning with sand) falls out of suspension w/ a hydrometer. From each soil we get a texture curve! #soilshakes

@modernfarmer We use a FarmKing 480 rotary cleaner before shipping grain. For seed, we have a Clipper No. 27 (which uses a combo of air and vibrating screens). The rotary is quite a bit faster than the Clipper, but not quite as precise for separating out grain.

Need to pick up a seed cleaner before we cut our #organic beans. Any suggestions on type, what size, etc. for a newbie? Have a truck to load into, would be nice to have something that could dump straight from gravity wagon and unload into an auger up into the truck
