People have a hard time w/ classical liberalism because they don't understand that individualism isn't a charted path to "happiness." It's simply a creed acknowledging that an individual, irrespective of their provenance, exists w/ a certain arrangement of traits.

Clever, but also for some reason reminds me of these lines from @FukuyamaFrancis: "They will struggle, in other words, out of a certain boredom: for they cannot imagine living in a world without struggle. And if the greater part of the world in which they live is characterized by peaceful and prosperous liberal democracy, they then will struggle against that peace and prosperity, and against democracy."

Paul Rudd and Adam Scott recreated the BOSOM BUDDIES sitcom intro just for fun and the attention to detail is insane 😂

nobody is ready to talk about how a guy who doesn't eat pussy may have sensory issues, may not have the privilege to be familiar with female anatomy, just worked multiple shifts and doesn't have any emotional bandwidth left for it....but no you just wanna be privileged

@LizzyStarrrdust In other words, cooperation. We have to put up w/ the differences. Part of what I think throws women is that men deal w/ this dissolution differently--by just temporarily shoving it aside. We feel it just as intensely; we just evolved to put it off for later. Drives women nuts.

I submit that young women were not meant to understand male sexuality as if they did, a great many would be so disgusted by its realities, they would cease engaging in sex with men. Coming to terms with the realities of male sexuality is part of the female sexual maturation process. However, in modernity, where our sex and relationship structures of polite mirage have largely crumbled, laying bare harsher realities, young women must square these more basal systems of male sexuality with normal but different human functioning than their own or risk building mental structures that create disdain for men themselves.

@EsotericCD We may also be looking at this the wrong way—he’s a powerful player with staff so he has people to email and Google for him. Not that that isn’t healthier, but I’m not sure it makes him the stoic that the narrative wants us to believe.

Republicans in Texas have lost their minds! This is what fascism looks like! Jennifer Combs of Trinidad, TX was ARRESTED and charged with FELONY “false alarm” simply for posting on Facebook about residents getting hospitalized from bacteria filled drinking water. The town’s pipes are from the 1950s, they issued a boil-water notice, and TCEQ is investigating. Instead of fixing the toxic water, they threw her in jail for speaking out?! This is what fascism looks like.

I don’t feel sympathy for these people. Not because what they’ve been through isn’t terrible, it’s because there is still no acknowledgement of the wrong that was committed on J6 and the gravity of it. The country lost our civility over J6 and they were part of it.
Sara Radovanovitch@the_cats_meowww

We lost everything over J6. My husband, Jay Johnston, is an actor and comedian with a career spanning over three decades. A lifetime of work in the entertainment industry disappeared overnight, replaced with a campaign designed to banish us from society completely. Networks and studios publicly blacklisted him before any charges or arrest. He was fired from Bob’s Burgers and several other ongoing projects. Theaters around Los Angeles put messages up on their marquees. Social media filled up with thousands of death threats and hateful messages. Friends disappeared. We were de-banked. Everything we ever worked for was gone. He went from working in Hollywood for decades to doing handyman jobs just to survive. Federal agents raided our home at dawn. They dragged us out of bed in our underwear at gunpoint and forced him to kneel in the dirt while the entire neighborhood watched. The government and media worked together to destroy us. I lost my career even though I wasn’t there that day. Our daughter, who was only 11 and has autism, was kicked out of her special needs programs. School administrators denied us. Other parents boycotted us and wouldn’t let their kids near her. She was placed on the Quiet Skies terrorist watchlist and subjected to repeated invasive searches at the airport. The sensory overload was so bad we couldn’t take her to visit her grandfather while he was going through cancer treatment. Our story is not unique. Hundreds of other families went through similar nightmares. Some lost their homes, businesses, marriages, and children. Military benefits gone. Fathers spent years in prison. Many were in solitary confinement, denied medical care and religious services, missing funerals and family milestones. The stress destroyed their health. Some J6ers even took their own lives. It’s time for restitution. Every ruined life, every traumatized child, and every stolen year demands full accountability and fair compensation. The amounts must reflect the true, permanent damage done - lost careers that spanned decades, destroyed futures, and irreplaceable family time - so victims are made whole, not given token settlements.

@ErikN_NJEdition Collective Soul was my 1st concert ever. I only went because I acquiesced to standing in line for the tickets in return for a free ticket. Good show. It was in a small auditorium, & I stood 15' from the amplifier--could barely hear for 2 days!

@Sandwich_Smith It’s funny, I don’t feel like a music obsessive but I used to tag along to a lot of cool and different shows. A lot of these were at Jazz Fest or Six Flags or happened to play at my college stadium or what have you. Oh! I saw Steppenwolf same stage as 3 Dog Night.

@warus85 @Dexerto Incorrect. He posted a meme quoting Trump, & his message was "seems relevant today." Distasteful? I think so. But there's absolutely no way it resembles what you describe.

No American should spend 5 minutes in jail for posting a meme, let alone the 37 days Larry Bushart endured. I'm extremely proud of my @TheFIREorg colleagues for securing this result. And I'm extremely grateful to Larry for trusting us to right this wrong.
FIRE@TheFIREorg

“I am pleased my First Amendment rights have been vindicated,” said Larry. “The people’s freedom to participate in civil discourse is crucial to a healthy democracy. I am looking forward to moving on and spending time with my family.” fire.org/news/victory-t…
