@vtncomics @nyaraVT Well everyone’s been using Birdo because it IS her name. It’s the equivalent to Catherine in western countries.
It’s not out of malice, modern localization just takes the stance that Birdo has no known deadname, her preferred name is Birdo, like in JP. It’s more accurate

Most set names just use the name of the character or franchise but mature franchises always get weird synonyms or references (example, the recent South Park set was called "Gonna Have Myself A Time")

@GothicBertram @LiquidHbox It's a legal issue. Between ultimate's launch and here, the ESRB made it so a game can't mention another game/series by name if it has a higher age rating. It's why some spirits don't have a series mentioned (even though xenoblade 1/2 spirits are fine since it wasn't retroactive)
