Education Minister Calandra and @fordnation are cutting staff at multiple levels while proposing to support the classroom. There will be fewer classrooms with more students & less support. Underfunding that doesn’t match inflation leads to this! TDSB students deserve much better!

TDSB to cut more than 600 teachers next year. The plan shows a loss of about five per cent of the board’s elementary teacher workforce, totalling about 484 jobs. The board’s secondary school workforce could shrink by about three per cent, equating around 123 jobs. Classroom teachers are the most heavily impacted for both elementary and secondary teachers, making up a proposed 330 lost jobs. The board is also planning to do away with 175 jobs for teachers who have provided additional capacity to TDSB schools in low-income areas, mainly through the board’s model school program. There are common sense ways out of this (leave income limits alone, delay and actual engage the disabled) but I'm not hopeful.

@MJForbes @MargTokar @AHS_media The clinic isn’t wrong, it’s just very hard to hear. Hopefully you are making your dissatisfaction known to your MLA, Ministers of Health and the Premier. I tried to go out of province last year to sped up being seen by an oncologist but I would have lost my place in line here.

Update: it’s now been a full month waiting for my daughter to get in to a clinic through a requisition submitted from her (2nd) all night visit to the Devon Hospital. The last line in the email is really hard to believe. “This email will be updated every 90 days”. @AHS_media
