@SarLev @BorisJohnson Fair point, if the answer is irrelevant closing down the interviewee would be more effective. But no matter how many times he asks the question, he knows he won't get an answer so is there a point trying? How hard is it to answer "did you read the report?" Anything but yes is no.

@JamesEKeen @BorisJohnson He didn’t cut him off though, he isn’t dominant enough, he just talked over him. Allow Johnson to answer and if didn’t get the response wanted alter his line of questioning. As I said, he’s allowed personal feelings to disrupt the interview

@JamesEKeen @BorisJohnson He does mumble yes, I agree, however a good interviewer should know this and lead the interview to obtain the answers viewers want, not just talk over them

@JamesEKeen @BorisJohnson Poor journalism though when you over pad an interview slot and be deliberately difficult due to personal views and dislikes, it’s not the first time Marr has done this to Johnson

@SarLev @BorisJohnson He has a set of topics he needs to get through, if a question he expects to have a short answer ends up killing 5 minutes of interview time with waffle then he has no choice but to move the conversation along. Same technique most interviewers use.

@JamesEKeen @BorisJohnson I hear your point but he’s still answering the previous question when another few have been fired at him, Marr just talks over everyone, loves the sound of his own voice

@SarLev @BorisJohnson Sometimes yes or no is the correct answer. But every question that he asks he sets off on the wrong path. "Did you read the report?" "Minsters have done everything we can to... blah blah." Long answers are fine if they relate to the question, his don't.

@SarLev @BorisJohnson Would be a fair point if the garbled nonsense that came back was even remotely in the region of answering the question. He just rambles with no coherent point.
