It is an exciting time to be a Maryland Democrat. The energy at the @mddems's gala in Hanover was a reminder that progress has only ever been possible when we work together. Our state continues to lead the way in demonstrating what principled, thoughtful leadership looks like – even in the face of the attacks of this Administration. From protecting reproductive freedom and defending voting rights to investing in public education, supporting working families, and standing up for our most vulnerable neighbors, our leaders are all in. Here’s to building on this momentum to fight for a Maryland – and a country – that works for everyone.

Campaigns, politics, and governing are all team sports. After the primary election, it's important for us to come together because while Election Day may be behind us, the responsibility to serve our community collaboratively continues. Thank you to Chair Sarah McDermott and @AACDCC for bringing us together for last week’s unity event. A sincere appreciation to everyone who stepped up to run, and congratulations to all of our nominees. Now is the time to reconnect, unite, and look ahead to supporting Democrats up and down the ballot in November!

After a long week in Washington, I started my weekend back in #MD03 with the Do-Something Democrats of the Almost 7:30 Club! I’m proud to share that I’ve been speaking at this Club for so long that I remember when it actually used to start closer to 7:30am. This morning, promptly at 8:00am, I delivered an update on our work in Washington and the path ahead to the midterms.

It’s the honor of a lifetime to represent #MD03 in Congress. Tonight, I am humbled and grateful by the trust you have placed in me to continue this work forward. Thousands more votes will continue to be counted by our trusted election administrators over the coming days, but tonight’s margins  show that I will move forward as your Democratic nominee for a second term in Washington.  I want to extend a sincere thank you to each and every person who knocked on doors, made phone calls, and stood with us. Thank you to our state and local partners, my team, my family, and my financé, Eric. Candidates do very little on our own – and this victory belongs entirely to the team we built together.  While this is a moment to celebrate, it is also the start of the next chapter. It is full steam ahead to November when the stakes this fall couldn't be higher and all eyes are on flipping the House of Representatives. I hope you’ll join us in the work ahead.

🐢 Happy Election Day, from me and my new friend (who we nicknamed the ballot box turtle) who may or may not decide to make a home in our garden! Make sure you move faster than a turtle and get to the polls before 8 P.M.!

Our final stop in Anne Arundel County before making the rounds again tonight is with our next County Executive, @allison_pickard! For more than a year, Allison has been crisscrossing Anne Arundel County, listening to voters and sharing her vision for the county’s future. I’m so excited to run through the tape alongside her, @marksoochang for Senate, Delegate Sandy Bartlett for reelection to the House, and Julie Hummer for reelection to the County Council!

Despite the weather, it’s still a beautiful day to vote! Congratulations are also in order for my friend Chuck Cook as he celebrates his first Election Day with his name on the ballot! We cannot wait to have him in the State House as the next representative for District 33B. The work continues tomorrow as we pivot to supporting @SenatorDawnGile for reelection and Chuck for the House!

The Election Day traditions continue with a delicious stop for breakfast at Bread and Butter. ☕🥖A huge thank you to Monica and her incredible team for fueling our campaign, supporting our community, and showing up for Annapolis day after day.

As the current youngest Member of the House of Delegates, @delegate_dylan has a special role in inspiring and creating opportunities for the next generation of Marylanders. I joined his summer campaign fellowship program to finish out their speaker series and share with a room full of young people why leaning in during this moment – especially at their age – is so critically important to the success of our democracy. No matter the issue, we need young people at the table and engaged. Thank you Delegate Behler for having me!

Wishing my friend and teammate, Delegate @DanaCJones, a happy 50th birthday! ⚓I’m so glad I could take a quick break out of our busy GOTV schedules to celebrate a leader who stepped up for D30 in the midst of a pandemic – and when she didn’t have a House office for 9 months – and has continued to deliver for our community ever since! It’s been a privilege to work alongside her on behalf of Annapolis and surrounding communities on so many issues from supporting our libraries to reproductive health care and more.

This is what knocking doors for @SenBillFerg looks like. I have known Bill to be a fighter for Baltimore and a champion for Marylanders everywhere – and his neighbors agree! Serving under his steadfast leadership in the Maryland Senate, I saw his dedication and drive first hand.
