How information is presented has the power to steer preferences and potential adoption of AI-generated recommendations — insights through a suggestion of concept hint at the power of stickiness + salience and transparency — important insights for choice architects. 🧠
Cass Sunstein@CassSunstein

In a new pilot study, people were about equally divided in their preference for decision by human beings or decision by algorithms - and information could shift a segment of them toward one rather than another. papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

"When we say we want customers to love our products, we mean something specific but aren’t articulating it." - @mattwallaert on the applied behavioral scientist as the new CXO to fill that gap in specificity. What do we want people to do? bit.ly/40RmiXU

Listened to @thebrainybiz episode on delight + now my antennae are out for (surprising!) delightful interactions. Just now: was late to pick up a tea (tardiness 100% my fault). Upon picking it up, the barista asks, "would you like us to heat it up?" 🤯🥰 *delight activated*

^^working as a behavioral designer embedded within an organization, learning about and adapting to stakeholder language and context has been an area of growth for me. Understanding context continually presents opportunities to learn 🤓

I adore how this adds a sense of personality and charm to the place, plus qualifies as one of those seemingly-rare "delightful" experiences Patrons can have fun punching their cards + don't have to worry about losing them because the cards are available right when they need them

Obsessed with this idea — a coffee shop that has old-school punch cards and a punch-card machine for regulars (and first-timers who could be regulars-in-the-making!)
