European football’s refusal to create an equal playing field in their leagues will be the downfall. Saying USA only care about money meanwhile the greediest teams in the world are in UEFA. Refuse equal salary cap, refuse equal spending cap, yet meant to be fair competition!🤣

@PDXFato Jesus.. another American who doesn’t know the difference between private clubs and national associations! National associations are non profits who pass down money for the grassroots, no single company owns part of a national association!

@CNN Nothing will ultimately happen. Why? Because the clubs under UEFA will refuse to align this decision with their own countries’ governing bodies. Majority of those clubs need money. And Infantino is offering them money. They’ve got nothing to lose (as clubs) in this deal.

@MakeAHole @Trevornoah If any part of a thinking process when you are ill is "can i afford to see a doctor" or "can i afford an ambulance" then the system is truly messed up! Again, I bet i am paying less in the higher tax, than you are in copays

@ObstructedView That’s sound like American problems, not a UEFA one! Here it isn’t a burden for the cities hosting! If UEFA pulled out of this “world cup “ and held a Euros in direct competition… UEFA would make a shed load of money and we know where most “eyes” would be !

@TaylorTwellman Europeans don't understand economics of scale, unsurprisingly. Private investment (a minority stake) is a lot of better than the public (taxpayers, cities, etc) paying for the World Cup. Is it not? Ask the USSF why they had to ask a private investor to pay for our current coach.

@kylamb8 Aww… poor Kyle can’t have been around for the “European super league” shambles when private equity and clubs tried to go against the grass roots and the fans… the American owners of clubs got a swift sharp lesson at what a backlash looks like

I’ve upset the euro shills that think UEFA transcends the sport. Funny how these people like to remind Americans it’s a global sport but then will turn around and be upset if you call it that when they’re whining about something like they often do.

Funny how the sport transcends everything until something goes against the Europeans then suddenly they think they’re bigger than the sport. UEFA would be a lot less relevant if it didn’t have the rest of the world as a backdrop.
Stan Collymore@StanCollymore

Cape Verde was a great story. Truly great. But 2 weeks after, football doesn't give a fuck, less so after 1, 2 or 4 years. If Mauritius, Mozambique, Mali do the same, great, but for 99% of fans, 99% of the time, across the world, nobody cares. If France, Italy, Germany, England, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal boycott a World Cup, it's automatically invalid. It's just the truth. Likewise, a club World Cup without any of Europe's top 25 clubs is invalid. Nobody is watching Inter Miami v Boca Juniors except in markets that simply don't generate revenue or global interest. UEFA should immediately take over global law making ( UEFA replace FIFA 4 votes in a new IFAB with the 4 home nations continuing holding the other 4 votes). Europe has paid football's bills for 150 years. It does not need to vote for a man in an island of 100,000 to hold the game to random because FIFA are giving him 20 mil. I'm half English, half Barbadian. One has paid its football dues, the other hasn't, so the other cannot and must not hold the balance of power. When two thirds of football nations fill their stadiums, support grassroots football, create a pyramid, have women's teams, find kids, then their vote is equal to a European powerhouse. Not a day before. Time for UEFA to secede from FIFA FIFA needs UEFA. UEFA doesn't need FIFA.

@kylamb8 @StanCollymore Love to see this “world cup” without UEFA nations taking part.. how much money do you think fifa would make then? For the total experience for fans .. the euros is a much better experience! Be that ticket pricing.. or getting fans to from grounds or the actual atmosphere!

This doesn't even make fucking sense. UEFA would be a lot less relevant? We've had a European Champions Cup since 1950. The 3 big leagues in Europe are 100 (150 England) plus years old. The English pyramid was built by exclusive British Isles based people, players and supporters. The World? Liked it so much in the 60's and 70's their TV companies demanded they showed it, loved it so much that thousands fly to England from across the planet to watch their team. You're a Yank. A nation that for a month thought its sporting discourse was so important that you collectively changed its rules, it's breaks, all to fit your worldview. In comparison, European nations have adhered mostly to the rules, laws and slow evolution that the most simple sport demands. We don't fucking need your money. We've propped our clubs up for 150 years and if Coca Cola, McDonald's, Mastercard took their sponsors toys and left, those clubs would be around for another 150 years, because we aren't you, we stay until the end, we don't need other "markets" to move our clubs to when they're fucking shit , we just turn up. Same in most European countries. UEFA is the most relevant sporting body on earth with the most pro clubs, most history, most appeal. Europeans alone could afford to keep clubs viable without one foreign supporter visiting the continent. This is a fact. You're just bitter because people see through the ultra greed, the faux interest in our sport and rabid need to consume everything you fucking touch. European football clubs and culture can survive without FIFA. As they did for many decades. All you're doing in your opening line is projecting your own weakness. So I'll translate. "Europeans are top dogs at something that we're not nor ever will be so I'll write a post projecting my insecurity onto Europeans". As supporters on my 150 year old club once said to one of its managers. We're not fickle, we just don't like you.

This is @hasanthehun's YT editor, by the way. If someone ends up getting killed in this space soon, I hope people know to hold @djclancy999 and @Twitch responsible. They have refused to engage with the insane amounts of violent rhetoric that is safe-guarded on that platform. I'm not even calling for bans or anything like that, I honestly just wish they would do something to curb this rhetoric before someone gets killed.
