@Goosaphone As someone who started in the 3DS era I would not be mad if they gutted all the social sim mechanics. They’re easily the most tertiary part of the experience. Gameplay and story should always be top priority. The social sim should only try to enhance those features

burnie burns is the only writer to write carolina like an actual character with her own goals and ambitions. every other writer only thinks of her as an accessory to men, in chorus it was to epsilon in shisno/zero it was to wash. they couldn't even commit to making her a blue.

@Jordan456257099 i'm not talking about physical strength LOL of course she's strong. but in terms of writing, she doesn't have anything going on. she doesn't have a goal, a want, a need, nothing. several scenes in s12-13 she's silent while epsilon converses with the others, it's jarring.

It’s just a fundamental flaw to analyze a non-shonen series like this

@NoahPasternak I think a large part of that comes from it being framed as fantasy. There's a lot of less radical people who are like "these'd be cool ideas in theory but they'll never happen." Thats what a lot of counterculture ideas became viewed as in the public consciousness- naive idealism
