This is my 15 year old’s back to school photo. Surrey county council has refused him an EHCP. They say his needs can be met in mainstream education with no additional resources. He has not been to school since October 2022.

They printed my statement as a whole though: I attended this conference in my annual leave at no cost to the NHS. The content of the conference was highly educational and the ability to connect face-to-face with so many of my colleagues was extremely valuable. Covid and staff shortages have had long-lasting effects on us and the ability to interact in a comfortable environment has been very healing.'

@Steve_Coppens @MarcVandeVelde6 Good to have a healthy debate! 😂 My reasoning not to do them is (generally) a lack of appropriate consent for a procedure that has potentially serious complications and no justification to put patients at additional risk when we have a perfectly safe and effective alternative.

@MarcVandeVelde6 I will resite the epidural catheter every time. I am scared of intrathecal catheters and @Sarylou1 completely convinced me that I am right to be scared. It's good to disagree sometimes @MarcVandeVelde6
