@PhoenixWallet „Remote“ approximately 50k sats. But I wonder why it is only so low because I „poured out“ an amount multiples higher than that and I thought I would then have that much „space in my bucket“ after that … do you know why this is not the case ?

@PhoenixWallet Thank you @PhoenixWallet 🙏 So is the „remote“ channel balance = inbound liquidity ? Why can I only receive 2% of my bucket via lightning although I poured out 50% of the bucket? I thought I could receive up to those 50% now via lightning ?

@SatCastle21 When you create an invoice, if you set the amount Phoenix will tell you if the payment won't fit in your existing channel (estimation). If you're afraid of paying an unexpected mining fee, just disable auto channel management.

@PhoenixWallet I poured some water out (50% of the bucket). But I am still hesitant to receive a Lightning payment now because my „remote“ balance is very very low compared to my „local“/„total“ balance (maybe 2% vs. 98%). Is the „remote“ balance what I can receive via LN without onchain fees?

@SatCastle21 Suppose that your wallet is a bucket, and your balance is the water in the bucket. Receiving = adding more water Spending = pouring water out Any time the bucket needs to be resized to allow for more water, that's an on-chain operation.

I just realized 🤯 Bitcoin block subsidy per block in BTC equals % of total supply (21M) issued in that halving epoch. For example at the moment: 2020-2024 epoch: block subsidy is 6.25 BTC and 6.25% of total supply will have been issued (~1.3M BTC) at the end of this epoch

@sovereignorigin @PhoenixWallet The way I understood it now, you would keep that inbound liquidity, but you shouldn’t splice 100% out. Only 99% in order to avoid a channel close.

@PhoenixWallet @SatCastle21 So, I receive a large onchain amount, it gets spliced in, I get large spending capacity. If I would splice it out again, do I keep inbound liquidity provisioning that would have been provided by the previously received funds, or is it lost?

@SatCastle21 @PhoenixWallet The non custodial lightning is not really for you. Except if you create a big channel / bucket and then poured most of it out if it. That would allow for a lot of cheap receiving until you have no more receiving capacity and then dump on chain into cold storage.
