Update - BBC understands Iran DID try and hit Diego Garcia, but in last few days, not yesterday - so before govt announced decision to let US use UK bases to protect Straits of Hormuz

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. I’ve seen this time and time again, the moment a club announce of their players got scouted those clubs get inundated with parents wanting their kids to join,
Same thing when clubs get promoted to the higher divisions, another club I know ditched 7 of their players who had played with them since u9s because they got promoted to the top division, instead of keeping the team together, imagine how those kids must feel

Good insight into the situation you face.
For me, it is this crazy situation where everything is geared towards being the 0.01% of players who make it in the game.
And if a coach helps a player make it into the 0.01% club then they shout about it, even if the rest of the players under their care quit the game.
Coaches, content creators, coach educators, and associations pump out session, ideas, beliefs, interviews, content, and philosophies from the 0.01%
It's a crazy situation that will get worse and worse until it stops.

Success in youth football = getting picked for an academy or coaching in an academy.

I expect it will get worse, because the numbers of players coming up is rising and the number of slots available for the best is fairly constant,
Down my way for instance even at grassroots level we don’t see new teams getting created, one team I know at u15 ran a roster of 23 players
Besides the whole academy system is very inefficient
