@jav1ts I think it just shows there isn’t much new overall - I felt it was a bit of an underwhelming change for Sim (I can’t really think of an objective/fair approach to change Sim though).

Sahara: - Picked up fighting games with the release of SF6 (former FPS pro). - Started entering tournaments in 2024. - Got signed by G8S in 2025. - Capcom Cup champion in his first full season as a professional player. Talk about making the most out of an opportunity
incross@crossknockout

Reminder that before SF6, Sahara was a Fortnite/Valorant player. Within a year of playing FGs he got in Haitani's youth program, which inspired him to go pro and led him to be picked up by G8S. 8 months later and he already won his first major and qualified for CapCup. Speedrun

What a weekend 😔 Went from chilling with the kids at the beach to seeing multiple missiles intercepted just a few kilometers away Flaming shrapnel/dibris falling from the sky, landing somewhat near home was warning enough. We left our area yesterday All good as of today but man this situation is surreal Insha'Allah this will pass #DubaiStrong 💪🏾

I’d like to share that I’ll be leaving Bandai Namco at the end of 2025. With the TEKKEN series reaching its 30th anniversary—an important milestone for a project I’ve devoted much of my life to—I felt this was the most fitting moment to bring one chapter to a close. My roots lie in the days when I supported small local tournaments in Japanese arcades and in small halls and community centers overseas. I still remember carrying arcade cabinets by myself, encouraging people to “Please try TEKKEN,” and directly facing the players right in front of me. The conversations and atmosphere we shared in those places became the core of who I am as a developer and game creator. Even as the times changed, those experiences have remained at the center of my identity. And even after the tournament scene grew much larger, many of you continued to treat me like an old friend—challenging me at venues, inviting me out for drinks at bars. Those memories are also deeply precious to me. In recent years, I experienced the loss of several close friends in my personal life, and in my professional life I witnessed the retirement or passing of many senior colleagues whom I deeply respect. Those accumulated events made me reflect on the “time I have left as a creator.” During that period, I sought advice from Ken Kutaragi—whom I respect as though he were another father—and received invaluable encouragement and guidance. His words quietly supported me in making this decision. Over the past four to five years, I’ve gradually handed over all of my responsibilities, as well as the stories and worldbuilding I oversaw, to the team, bringing me to the present day. Looking back, I was fortunate to work on an extraordinary variety of projects—VR titles (such as Summer Lesson), Pokkén Tournament, the SoulCalibur series, and many others, both inside and outside the company. Each project was full of new discoveries and learning, and every one of them became an irreplaceable experience for me. To everyone who has supported me, to communities around the world, and to all the colleagues who have walked alongside me for so many years, I offer my deepest gratitude. I’ll share more about my next steps at a later date. Thank you very much for everything. 【Postscript】 Although I will be leaving the company at the end of 2025, Bandai Namco has asked me to appear at the TWT Finals at the end of January 2026, so I expect to attend as a guest. For 30 years I kept saying, “I’ll do it someday,” and never once performed as a DJ at a tournament event. So instead, I will be releasing—for the first and last time—a 60-minute TEKKEN DJ-style nonstop mix (DJ mix), personally edited by myself, together with this announcement. Listening to it brings back many memories. Thank you again, sincerely, for all these years. ‘TEKKEN: A 30-Year Journey – Harada’s Final Mix’ by Katsuhiro Harada 1 is on #SoundCloud on.soundcloud.com/pEYofA4yXOwyC7… December 8, 2025 - The Final Day of TEKKEN’s 30th Anniversary - Katsuhiro Harada ‘TEKKEN: A 30-Year Journey – Harada’s Final Mix’ by Katsuhiro Harada 1 is on #SoundCloud on.soundcloud.com/pEYofA4yXOwyC7…

[I moved this here for better visibility] Being older means less time, I never said older players wouldn't have the ability, thats your assumption. The reality is what about your life? Don't you want to achieve other things in life? Where is the time to do that going to come from if you're spending 10 hours a day playing video games? Then what about if you have kids? 10 hours a day on Street Fighter "for fun" isn't going to happen. Also what about lifes responsibilities? Where is the time going to come from? Your chess/athlete analogy is for people who do it as professionals. How many top level champions you know that are winnings at 50+ vs all the young guys on fighting games right now? The problem isnt lack of skill or ability, its about what life is as an older person why you cannot compete on the same level. Nothing to do with pandering, its just simple facts of life.

@broskiFGC Good video! I just want to add on why SJC burning kick feels harder it’s because the qcb motion, seismos (and maybe supers, I am not sure) are more lenient where you can press and hold before the jump motion and they will come out. It doesn’t seem to work for burning kicks.

@jchensor @Chris_F_22 It works at least with her qcb P and K as well, even without holding it gives a lot of lenience on when you are pressing the button

@Saunic @Chris_F_22 Yeah. I was testing it out and Seismo cancels work off any High Jump cancel just by holding the button down and… I hope that’s a big because that should be fixed, IMO. It feels like I’m cheating when I just hold the button down.

@Chris_F_22 @jchensor I got the chance to try her out do the first time and yes quite a few jump cancels can be done just by holding P or K making TK inputs ridiculously easy.

I like the new tech of the french top players to change name and flag a couple of days before a major but please, if you are trying to hide just create another profile, it is so easy to find you as your original name still shows in your past games before the change 😂

okay, my fellow frenchmen/frenchwomen. I have read that in every establishment we enter, we must greet the staff with bonjour/bonsoir, or it is considered extremely rude to not do so. can someone confirm? I don't mind, but I just want to be sure LOL

the direction riot took with 2XKO to make it approachable for casuals feels off bc they got rid of motion inputs but added a convoluted control scheme and a shit ton of core mechanics to learn. idk if kevin nguyen is going to be able to hop off lol/val and play 2xko very easily.

@jchensor @igorhajjar @XianMSG But to keep the focus on side by side in FGC tournaments, I can tell you there are players in Asia that are trained and better side by side than h2h 😆

@jchensor @igorhajjar @XianMSG At least for France yes it became more H2H because arcade owners wanted to replicate the Japanese arcade culture but side by side was definitely the norm during the early days.

@jchensor @igorhajjar @XianMSG Europe cabinets were also side by side. This said it’s not about being used or not, side by side has been a recognised competitive issue that most players just don’t want to deal with. There’s been loads of drama around this in Asia FGC for years.

@igorhajjar @XianMSG A lot of Asia played in head to head cabinets. So he might not be used to having to do those kind of fakes either. In fact, I think U.S. is the only major area that really was played side by side, another reason why it’s not reasonable to expect everyone to learn that format.
