Jobs are being cut and staff are not being paid properly.
The majority of staff – 70% - are on zero hour contracts with some not getting work for weeks on end and others getting only a few hours a week. Based on a survey carried out by Unite, bullying is common, .. #/

GLL were handed the contract to run libraries by Bromley Council but not long after this staff had to go on strike in order to stop GLL cutting jobs. The union and GLL reached an agreement – ensuring that vacant posts would be filled. GLL has gone back on that agreement.

It shouldn't be ignored though that the council in Lewisham is a Labour majority and have undermined their own libraries and staff, left them in a terrible state. The local party who are apparently partnering in this strike fundraiser.
