Apparently I ruffled some feathers by saying Americans aren’t well educated. The truth hurts: 54% can’t read above a 6th grade level. 28% can only do level 1 math: basic addition and subtraction. We’re dumb, distracted and diluted. It doesn’t have to be this way.

I am shocked how many people in the church think choosing their family over the Lord and the gospel is the right choice. You keep your covenants, all of them. If your spouse leaves you or your children disown you over it, that's on them - but you keep your covenants regardless.

Ex and Anti Mormons hate context. They much rather throw rocks from their glass houses. There are too many of these to cover but I will address one of the most common lazy learner attacks that critics throw at Latter-day Saints. "Joseph Smith is a pedophile" The claim: Joseph Smith married a 14 year old girl and is therefore a pedophile. The context: There is a difference to how Latter-day Saints marriages and sealings worked. especially in the early days of the church. Heber C. Kimball wanted his family to be sealed to Joseph through eternity and requested that his daughter Helen be sealed to the prophet. There is no evidence that their marriage was consummated and she continued to live with her family after the sealing. Helen even defended the practice of polygamy later in her life and never expressed regret for her sealing to Joseph. This example isn't unique. Proper research into many of the criticisms against the church lead to a better contextual understanding of the issues. Now why don't critics mention the context when attacking the church? Disingenuous, Lazy, ignorant, you can take your pick. You are welcome to think what you want but don't expect latter-day Saints to bend the knee when you don't put in the effort to learn about us or our history. Every teaching of the Mormon church is slippery: Mormon leaders and apologists can bend the Mormon scriptures, doctrines and teachings to say just about anything, because of the ever changing doctrines of the LDS Church.

I wonder how many kids of poor LDS families feel “blessed” by their parents paying tithing? Growing up, we never had enough $. My parents were always working/gone & stressed. We didn’t have $ for decent clothes, food, vacations, outings, or hobbies. But tithing was paid. 😐
