How Worcestershire Sauce got its name In the late 1800s in New Orleans a chef in a restaurant had just whipped up a concoction to be applied to meat and he asked a waiter to take it out to a well-lubed patron for a test. The diner was most agreeable and added quite a bit of it to his cut of beef. Upon tasting it, he rather liked it and turned around to hail the waiter, calling out, "Hey, whorsh diss'here sauce??", and so the name was given.

The search for two missing children and their father continues today. This remains an active Amber Alert. Dane Richman failed to drop the children off at a custody exchange with mom on Saturday in Saratoga Springs, Utah. When the police showed up at Dane’s home to do a welfare check, they found that Dane had completely emptied out the house him and the children were living in. A moving truck was pulling out of the driveway when police arrived. Officers stopped the truck, but the movers told them they had never seen the homeowner and all instructions came through text. Dane abruptly dumped all of his belongings. He gave things away to neighbors, despite having just bought a new dresser for the baby’s room. One cold and snowy day Jim walked into work with a cast on his right arm. "Why, Jim! Are you ok? How did you break your arm?" asked Steve. "Well Steve, I slipped on some ice and fell down my front porch. As for how I'm doing? It doesn't hurt that much, but it’s made things really difficult,” Jim told him. Steve looked sympathetic and asked, "Really? How so?" "First off, I can't drive my stick-shift to work, so I have to drive my wife's car. Second, I can't fit my gloves over this cast, so it feels like my fingers are going to fall off every time I go outside. And the absolute worst has to be the bathroom experience. You know what happens when you try to wipe yourself without your dominant arm?" "I'm almost afraid to ask, Jim. What happens?" replied Steve. "Well,” Jim groaned, “that's when the shit really gets out of hand.”

Throughout my photographic journey I’ve learned many lessons and this image showcases one-of the many lessons: Sometimes it REALLY doesn’t matter about the amount of effort put in to capture the image you’re after - sometimes it’s simply by chance. When I first began my journey photographing the migrating Songbirds, this Painted Bunting (M) was at the top of my priority list. I Wasn’t having ANY luck getting good views of them at the locations I traveled to, so I decided to set up my photography blind on my property. I put up a couple of feeders and strategically placed them near some perches I found and placed into ground. I remember thinking “now all I have to do is wait”… and waiting is exactly what I did - for eight straight days. For an entire week I got out to my hide around 5:45 am- placed my camera setup into my Tripod and began waiting. My eyes tracking any and all movement just hoping the Painted Bunting would make it grand arrival. I would wait it out until 6-8 pm each day and after the fifth day my patience began running out. So much so that on that eighth day I said the hell with it - I wasn’t going out at the crack of Dawn and skipping meals over it anymore - and didn’t even get into the hide until 5:30 pm. Wouldn’t you know it - on that day I wasn’t in that hide no longer then 20 minutes and no only seen it, but managed to capture this image below. No crazy scheduling, no sitting completely still for 10 ten hours without a restroom break… just simply walked out and had enough time to setup my camera … BAM … got the shot and accomplished the mission. Pretty much ZERO effort day and got what I needed - It was all by chance. Even funnier part is, Since that week - I’ve had more opportunities to photograph this beautiful species than I could shake a stick at! I now see them daily and if I was always carrying my camera I’d have new images of them each day 😂😂😂
