Moving firefighter policy at the federal level is rarely fast and never accidental. In 2025, more than 17,000 IAFF members emailed Congress on the HONOR Act. Combined with GP leadership and a relentless Government Affairs and Political team opening doors on Capitol Hill, we moved the dial. After 18 months, the HONOR Act was included in the NDAA for final passage. Many PSOB presumptions take 6–8 years. This one didn’t.
