Elon Musk just said saving for retirement becomes pointless in 10 to 20 years. Not speculation. Math.
Musk: “Don’t worry about squirreling money away for retirement in like ten or 20 years. It won’t matter.”
We passed the event horizon. Retirement savings assumes scarcity persists. It won’t.
AI and robotics collapse labor costs to zero. Living costs follow. You’re not saving for security. You’re saving for a world that stops existing.
Musk: “If any of the things that we’ve said are true, saving for retirement will be irrelevant.”
Age of Abundance isn’t vision. It’s physics. Economic laws executing whether you believe them or not.
5,000 days. Fourteen years. Global GDP uncaps. Production approaches infinite. Net worth as concept dies.
Only scarcity left is meaning. Money stops being the constraint.
Timeline is shorter than your brain accepts. Fourteen years. We transition from survival work to Universal High Income in that window.
Event horizon isn’t coming. You’re in it. Operating under old rules while ground disappears beneath you means you already lost.
Production costs hit zero through automation. Everything priced on human labor reprices instantly. Housing. Food. Goods. Services. All reset when scarcity evaporates.
Traditional planning assumes structure persists. Save for decades. Retire on capital returns in scarcity markets. That model shatters when abundance becomes baseline.
You’re optimizing for a world vanishing while the replacement materializes. Your strategy becomes obsolete before you finish executing it.
The retirement you’re building toward assumes costs stay high. They collapse. And your savings designed for expensive scarcity become irrelevant in cheap abundance.
Every dollar you put away for future scarcity is a bet against the transformation already happening. And that bet loses the moment production costs hit zero and the economy you planned for stops functioning.
You’re not preparing for the future. You’re clinging to a past that’s ending whether you accept it or not. And fourteen years from now, the question won’t be whether you saved enough. It’ll be why you wasted time saving for conditions that don’t exist anymore.

🚨BREAKING🚨
It has been revealed that desperate Keir Starmer told his MP's: “Back me or I call an election, you’re ALL finished!”
He warned them "Try a Rayner coup and it'll force a snap election – you'll ALL lose your seats!"
Cabinet ministers scramble with public loyalty posts as Keir fights for survival in the Mandelson/Epstein scandal storm.
This is raw desperation from a PM clinging to power at any cost.
We have a crisis leader on the brink, what will he do next?!

Looks like nobody noticed what the quoted tweet was about, so here it is: A disk shader cache for the Azahar Vulkan renderer!
TL;DR: Say goodbye to stutters once you have played the game for the first time. For more info keep reading. 🧵(1/6)

Got some coding experts with me tonight. If blue tweets then write a random character, if green agrees then move to the next one. :P Made some progress, guess what it is? 👀

Dragon Quest localization was ruined (in part) by the nagging of Richard Honeywood who insisted on British accents/English voice acting in Dragon Quest VIII & using Plus Alpha localization, whose company slogan is "You'd never known it started in Japanese," which unfortunately perfectly describes the butchery committed by localizers.
Granted, the early NES game translations were definitely not perfect, but Dragon Quest III & IV were an improvement over 1 & II, mostly dropping the ye olde English dialogue.
Dragon Quest VIII was the turning point in the future of English releases. It shifted the perception of Dragon Quest & brought in a new audience who ended up with a warped perception of what Dragon Quest was "supposed to" be.
Every release after VIII has insisted on inserting "real world accents," including the remakes of IV-VI for the Nintendo DS, which contain accents so thick much of the text is just obnoxious to read.
Honeywood claims Dragon Quest is "comical & lighthearted," but it's not as though the games are one big joke or cutesy adventures just because there's a smiling slime or some humor throughout.
There are some very dark elements present in Dragon Quest games. Dragon Quest II opens with a kingdom being wiped out by monsters. Dragon Quest III contains a story of an elf & a human's forbidden love ending in a tragic suicide. Towards the end, the hero sees his father die in battle before his eyes & becomes trapped in the world below the surface after defeating the final boss, never able to return home & see his mother again.
Dragon Quest V, arguably the most tragic stories in the series, features the hero going through many hardships including witnessing the death of his father & being enslaved for many years; these are just a handful of examples.
Localizers claim to capture the "vibe" of Japanese media, but they reduce everything to the simplest interpretation ignoring that just because there are lighthearted moments doesn't mean the work is intended to be a comedy.
It's unfortunate that Japanese creators eventually fold to this nonsense. This is another reason why "the creator approved it" is a silly excuse. They end up being talked into allowing their media to be mishandled in a different region due to perceived cultural differences.
They really need to stand firm in their decisions & not allow their vision to be warped by whatever localizers want to turn their work into in order to satisfy their "we know your work better than you" egos.
The audience who loves these works for what they are & not what localizers try to force them to be, want an experience that remains true to the original, not a bastardization that claims to capture the "vibe" but changes the script into something it never was in the process.
This only further confirms what anyone who has been paying attention has known all along: localizers are meddling in the creative process & trying to force creators to do things their way for the English releases of Japanese media.

Geoff just simply doesn't deserve hate. Dude is imperfect like the rest of us but his passion for games and positivity of games deserves to be recognized and appreciated. like Gene Park said, he is a gamer. Gamers like games. Strikes me as a glass half full guy. I like that.
