It's really very simple. In recent history Scotland has been heading towards the Scandinavian model of society and England towards the US. We can see that in the NHS, ScotGov policies, civil rights and other areas. The only logical outcome is #ScottishIndependence

@pinstripedline UK industry is better placed to do this. Just get a few call off contracts with our world leading offshore companies, far better value and potentially can surge more vessels if needed.

This is a capability that BT used to provide via their UK crewed ships, and HMS CHALLENGER to maintain SOSUS and other networks in 1980s.
Modern Royal Navy@ModernNavy

Security committees and maritime agencies have lobbied for the UK to acquire a dedicated, sovereign cable repair ship. This was discussed at the @JointCtteNSS and, while the Government has requested information, there's no plan to acquire one by 2030 committees.parliament.uk/oralevidence/1…

UK supermarkets are being urged by the government to limit food prices in return for easing regulations, the BBC understands. Ah right. So no snorting with derision about price caps when it’s WM not Holyrood. Jings. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Wes Streeting just called Plaid Cymru and the SNP an existential threat to the country! Let’s brush under the carpet shall we the rise of the far right, the fact that Westminster has shafted us for far too long! And Labour? Independence pending ✊🏼🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Grangemouth refined aviation fuel, but your Labour government failed to save it and allowed it to close. You could also invest in a Sustainable Aviation Fuel refinery there, but have failed to do so. Labour isn’t working!
Michael Shanks MP@mgshanks

Remarkable new levels of dishonesty from Kemi Badenoch. She surely knows that jet fuel supply is about global refining capacity, not the supply of crude. More North Sea crude would do nothing to solve the global refined products issue. She is simply misleading people.

Sky News just did an extended piece on the UK being the world's largest importer of jet fuel, with zero production capacity. They managed not to mention the closure 2 years ago of the Grangemouth oil refinery which produced jet fuel.

Gordon Brown announcing HS2 in 2009. The UK's biggest ever construction scandal. It will never be completed. It will never reach its original projected speed. Overbudget by £87.7bn. Enough to build 400 Glen Sannox ferries. FOUR HUNDRED! Ferries fiasco? F*ck off.

Andy Burnham voted for the Iraq War, an illegal war that killed over a million people. As Health Secretary, he helped drive NHS privatisation. He joined Labour Friends of Israel, opposed BDS as “spiteful”, praised Israel as a “democracy”, and called the Balfour Declaration “British values in action”. He is a Zionist. Stop pretending he’s a radical alternative, he’s more of the same.
Andy Burnham@AndyBurnhamGM

I can confirm that I will be requesting the permission of the NEC to stand in the Makerfield by-election. I grew up in this area and have lived here for 25 years. I care deeply about it and its people. I know they have been let down by national politics. Ten years ago, I decided to leave Westminster. Why? Because, after 16 years, I came to the conclusion that our national political system does not work for areas like ours. I learnt this fighting its failure to invest in the Wigan borough, for justice for the Hillsborough families and against its treatment of Greater Manchester during the pandemic. Over the last decade, I have been challenging this failure from the outside and building a new and better way of doing politics. We have built Greater Manchester into the fastest-growing city-region in the UK and put buses back under public control, introducing a £2 fare cap to help people with cost-of-living pressures. However, there is only so much that can be done from Greater Manchester. Much bigger change is needed at a national level if everyday life is to be made more affordable again. This is why I now seek people’s support to return to Parliament: to bring the change we have brought to Greater Manchester to the whole of the UK and make politics work properly for people. Millions are struggling and they need the Labour Government to succeed. It has already made changes to make life better for them in its first two years. After this week, we owe it to people to come back together as a Labour movement, giving the Prime Minister and the Government the space and stability they need as the by-election takes place. I want to recognise the difficult decision taken by Josh Simons and the sacrifice he and his family are making. I have worked closely with him as Mayor on issues like flooding and illegal waste dumping and have seen first-hand how effective he has been. He has put the communities of Makerfield first, made a real difference for them and should take great pride in that. Finally, I truly do not take a single vote for granted and will work hard to regain the trust of people in the Makerfield constituency, many of whom have long supported our party but lost faith in recent times. We will change Labour for the better and make it a party you can believe in again. ENDS

As Health Secretary, Wes Streeting deepened the privatisation of our NHS and handed over our data to Palantir, a company involved in genocide. I am sure his friend Peter Mandelson is very proud. Time to reinstate our NHS as a fully public service — and kick Palantir out!

Labour set to nationalise British Steel to save jobs, but they wouldn’t do the same for Grangemouth. Scotland is always an afterthought for Westminster Governments. It’s time for independence. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

While Westminster is distracted by utter chaos, I will always focus on Scotland’s priorities. My government will deliver swift and urgent action on the cost of living - capping food prices, lowering the cost of commuting and supporting first-time buyers.

@John_Arab @bellacaledonia @ron_dickinson @ScotGovFM @scotgov @ammacj @BjCruickshank @pjwoodside @RickyCa69392149 I go back to the start. We ought not feed vultures in next sessions. I’m ok with press scrutiny of @scotgov (altho detest when misrepresent a news release (been there)). But not this. Just a couple of examples from today.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Polls are showing momentum is with the SNP, and a majority is within touching distance. But, and it’s a big but, it will only happen if everyone who wants it votes for it. Be part of history - if there is one thing you do - remind SNP voters to vote on Thursday 7th May.

An SNP majority is dependent on a high turnout on Thursday. I’m normally cautious about both votes SNP, but I think we could pull this majority off. Which is why BBC are talking a lot about people being scunnered - it’s to demotivate voters. LETS GET THIS DONE!

It’s that time of year where I strip the old drivetrain off the bike and replace with new. Expensive, but just about bearable, hate to think what all those new adopters of 13 speed are going to face when they need a new cassette, chain, chainring, etc!
