⚖️Today, justice spoke for Baby Tamara. ⚖️ We applaud the court for its firm and decisive ruling today in the case of 7-year-old Tamara Blessing Kabura, and for handing a sentence that reflects the gravity of the crime committed against her. Tamara was only a child when her life was violently taken. Her disappearance on May 24, 2025, and the heartbreaking discovery of her body days later in Witemere, Nyeri, shook this country to its core. No family should endure such horror. No child should ever face such brutality. For far too many survivors and families, justice in cases of sexual and gender-based violence is slow, uncertain, or never comes at all. Survivors are retraumatised. Families are silenced. Cases collapse. Perpetrators walk free. Today’s ruling sends an important message: crimes of this magnitude demand accountability. We have consistently called on duty bearers to act swiftly, to prioritise survivor-centred justice, and to ensure that punishment aligns with the severity of the crime. This judgment demonstrates what is possible when the justice system works with urgency and resolve. But justice after the fact is not enough. We must continue to strengthen prevention, community vigilance, child protection systems, and survivor support services. We must also ensure that investigations are thorough, prosecutions are diligent, and that no family has to fight alone for accountability. Tamara deserved to grow up. She deserved safety. Today, William Ruto is cornered. Exposed. Politically naked. His record has failed him. His promises have collapsed. His numbers are shrinking. His legacy is already in ruins. So what does he do? He reaches for the oldest poison in Kenyan politics: tribal arithmetic. He needs the Luo community not for respect, not for development, not for justice but as a narrative tool. As a shield. As a distraction. As proof that “someone else is the problem.” Let me tell my luo people: With or without the Luo vote, the rest of the nation is already shaping 2027. Ruto’s fate is sealed by his own failures. Dragging communities into manufactured hostility will not save him. Weaponizing history will not rewrite reality. Paying operatives to preach division will not erase hunger, taxes, joblessness, or broken healthcare. Luo leaders must decide: Will you mortgage the future of your children for temporary political relevance? Or will you rise above recycled elections and think about long-term dignity, unity, and generational progress? Kenya is moving. History is moving. And it will not wait for leaders trapped in yesterday’s politics. Choose legacy over noise. Choose the future over elections. Choose Kenya over political convenience. Because when this chapter ends and it will history will remember who built bridges, and who rented out their people for survival politics.
