@Ed_Realist @asymmetricinfo Men lie on dating apps. This guy said he sleeps under a bridge and his pictures indicate he’s homeless and hasn’t showered in months. Therefore, since men lie, he must be living in a mansion.

"Would you sleep with me for one million dollars?" " Sure." " How about for ten dollars?" "What do you think I am?" "We’ve already established what you are. All we’re doing is bargaining about price." Corporations lie. They lie on public documents, they lie privately, they lie, they lie, they lie. You're arguing about direction. If corporations found it useful to lie in order to save millions on workers, they'd fucking lie. That's all I'm saying. I'm not saying GM was lying, or that GM is like Enron. I'm just saying that it's absurd to argue that unions were acting irrationally in doubting a corporation's public statements.

@Ed_Realist Very few companies pretend that they’re burning $1 billion in cash a month, for many reasons, including the fact that cash balances are one of the easiest things for auditors to track

@JeremiahDJohns Real ones remember when people on the left attacked him for “artificially inflating Trump’s chances” ahead of the 2016 election lol

"I think Nate is dumb because his election forecast was wrong" is one of the single best predictors for someone being an absolutely brainless idiot I've literally never seen it said by someone who wasn't a grifter, completely brain-poisoned, or a total moron. 100% hit rate.

@SpecialPuppy1 @nikicaga Something that runs very counter to the narrative on here is that in 2002, a majority of congressional democrats voted against the war in Iraq (at a time when the caucus was much more conservative)

@NCSUPainTrain @eastonfreeze Tbh I didn’t realize Schefter had a ~15 year career in print before moving to TV in the mid 2000s and Kiper started working the draft for ESPN back in the 80s when he was in his mid 20s. Def don’t think of them as being that close in age

I will never stop pointing out that prior to 2016 major parties almost NEVER ran candidates with negative national favorability ratings and that since 2016 it’s been the case for five out of the six candidates over the three elections.
ettingermentum@ettingermentum

Back when we were a real country people with these numbers just wouldn’t be allowed to run. It would have been a complete nonstarter. They would’ve tried recruiting one of the people on Shark Tank instead.

@jdcmedlock The state of FL does in fact spend money on schools (university system), security (corrections, national & state guard), etc. The NYC budget also excludes county, municipality, etc so there's no point in you bringing those up. The NYC budget is severely outsized.

Nearly 20 million people watching every night x 5 nights a week x 52 weeks a year. Outside of the NFL, the most-watched programs in America are the old-school national news broadcasts.
Brian Stelter@brianstelter

For those of you interested in the evening news ratings race: CBS is back above 4 million, but ABC is still more than twice as high. Here's last week; first # is total viewers, the second is 25-54 demo ABC: 8,821,000 / 1,102,000 NBC: 6,518,000 / 978,000 CBS: 4,166,000 / 533,000

This is WILD Students in Washington, D.C. flagged for special ed and thereby extra time for the SAT scored SINGIFICANTLY higher than other test takers What does this mean? Essentially affluent students gaming the system to get a testing advantage Old data, same story
