40 years ago they began pushing for carbs to be 60% of your daily calories. Since the 90's they pushed for 300g of carbs in a 2000 calorie diet. That's 10 cups of corn. (pick a carb, its a lot) This goes along with an increased rate of obesity and inflammatory diseases. People don't need to eat half a cake worth of carbs a day when you have nutritious fats and proteins available. Carbs are not the devil- but you don't need it like they said.
