really excited to share what we've been working on. today we're introducing @SwapMonster_, the first OTC marketplace on Canton Network. As crypto matures and more tradfi institutions move on-chain, there is a need for the same trading workflows they're used to, with the benefits of blockchain technology. in tradfi, institutions don't trade large positions on open exchanges- they use OTC desks where they negotiate privately, agree on a price, and settle directly between counterparties. Until now, this model simply hasn't existed on-chain. we built Swap Monster to change that. participants can trade directly with each other, atomically and privately, with no intermediaries in the middle. We chose @CantonNetwork because privacy is built into the protocol itself. When trading through Swap Monster, only the parties involved can see the transaction. More announcements soon!

We've been quiet recently because Mark Goodwin and I have been working to write the most comprehensive investigation into Polymarket's origins and ambitions to date. We found that Polymarket's "official" origin story, that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and then built "the company in his bathroom", is a lie. Polymarket really started years earlier as another company called TokenBnk that was deeply tied to Israeli interests, specifically a crypto company founded by Benjamin Netanyahu's niece and nephew. Coplan has actively tried to obfuscate this company from his story and it's not the only thing either. In Part 1 of this two-part series, we unravel the real history of Polymarket, directly connecting the company to Peter Thiel's efforts to resurrect controversial DARPA programs from its now defunct Information Awareness Office. Polymarket appears to have been chosen by Thiel and his associates to succeed in resurrecting DARPA's Policy Analysis Market where another Thiel-linked company, Augur, had previously failed. Just saw @liquidtrading close a $25.6M funding round in total. At its core it's just another wrapper on @HyperliquidX + @Polymarket, pretty much like the @BasedOneX aggregator (they raised $15.6M). The VC enthusiasm for these projects is wild - respect the conviction, but I genuinely don't get why they're throwing these bags at them. Liquid stats: - Total revenue: $1.1M - 30d perp volume: $293M - 30d users: 1,638 Meanwhile @tread_fi: - Total revenue: $3.3M - 30d perp volume: $1.47B - 30d users: 805 - Raised: $3.5M While the latest wrapper gets the big checks and all the hype, everyone is completely sleeping on the actual hidden gem in the perp DEX space. TreadFi makes perp trading actually usable through smart bot automation. MM + DN bots let you generate real volume and farm points passively across other perp DEXs like @risextrade, @nadoHQ, @pacifica_fi, @extendedapp, @AftermathFi, @tradexyz etc. Yeah, it's not a mass-market toy - setting up grid, mid, rgrid, dgrid setups takes time and brainpower. But this is exactly the infrastructure the market has been missing for ages. We're heading straight into the AI agent era anyway, where you just drop the right prompt/setup and the bots handle everything. Kinda insane that TreadFi is still this underrated in the perp world.
