Why do the SF train signs have 2 significant figures of accuracy for estimated train arrival times?? There is no conceivable reason I'd need to know that a train is 9.14 minutes minutes away

It’s the year 2026 and payments infrastructure is still, incredibly, analog and outdated. An initial wave of stablecoin payments companies proved out the use cases, but true enterprise stablecoin adoption has required hands on leadership from those who have been deep in the trenches of legacy payments infrastructure. Eric and the Velocity team have a level of experience and understanding that the market has been sorely lacking and they have been able to open the eyes of enterprises to how stablecoins can enhance legacy payments and treasury stacks. Velocity serves clients from some of the worlds top acquirers to card networks, banks and global F500s, and we’re ecstatic to be able to co-lead their Series A with Firstmark and a host of other great investors, including Capital One’s first ever investment in the space.
Eric@Queathem

Today, I’m incredibly excited to share that we’ve raised a $38 million Series A. The round was led by @HadickM at @dragonfly_xyz and @adamn at @FirstMarkCap , with continued support from @ac_steele and @SteveSarracino at @ActivantCapital, and new participation from @QEDInvestors , @CapitalOne Ventures, @coinbase Ventures, @Ripple, and @wintermute_t Ventures. fwiw i think you're talking past each other. i agree that spotify and apple music lossless quality are similar enough for 99.99% of listening experiences, but apple music also has *some* albums with spatial dolby atmos remasters that *are* noticeably better if you have supported apple headphones or a 5.1 / 7.1 system

Yes, it is insane how crazy good music is on apple music and how cheap it is today to have "audiphile" experiences. Apple did something amazing here. They also have lossless for everyone!! Insane! What puzzles me is how many "tech-influencers" even do not get how big the difference is in quality between Spotify and Apple Music. Spotify has great experience, but the quality is really a lot inferior to Apple Music. Another thing that drives me mad is, reviews like: "The Apple Airpods Max really don't sound that great" and you see them using Spotify. Yeah. They sound as good as Spotify can sound. The experience these thigns give you on Apple Music with Dolby is soooooooo good. Pure luxury how widely available and relatively affordable this has become,
P@_ptonik

discovered dolby atmos remasters recently and I regret to inform you that music apparently has been in black and white this whole time. even on my budget, sub $1k setup (2x sonos era 300s) albums i've heard 500 times suddenly grew a third dimension, almost making me cry. WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS. switched from spotify to apple music purely for this and I'd do it again in front of daniel ek's family. its insanely good - do yourself a favor and go hear it.

OMG OMG OpenAI ads shipping a 'Custom Audiences' clone...one of my products at Facebook back in the day (basically, uploading lists of emails for targeting). History doesn't repeat, but it sure does rhyme.

@nic_carter The Disney example strikes me as an unambiguous example negative externality of extreme wealth inequality. Like I don't think many people care that only the very wealthy can buy a mansion on the intercoastal or the cost of the finest wines.

Amazing chart from today's episode: It's not just that US household exposure to equities is at a record high, but that the stock market is a SIGNIFICANTLY greater component of total household net worth than real estate now, which blows my mind. The stock market is the economy.
