Arne Slot believes Liverpool have suffered from a succession of contentious video assistant referee decisions this season — but admits they only had themselves to blame for Sunday’s 3-2 defeat to Manchester United.
The Dutch head coach was unhappy that Benjamin Sesko’s goal was allowed to stand at Old Trafford when replays appeared to show the ball hit the striker’s fingers before going over the line.
“I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone this season that if there’s a VAR intervention or if there’s something that could be left or right (50-50) then the decision goes against us," Slot told reporters post-match. "That has been the whole season, every single time the same."
