@MuseZack Never saw this movie but remember it fondly as there was a trailer for it on the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie VHS. Watched that video about 100 times so know every single second of that trailer! Looks like pure 80s high-concept fun.

I'm watching the mostly forgotten '80s gem Electric Dreams for the first time in ages and realizing that Lenny Von Dohlen's Miles was kind of the visual template for the Disney animation "sexy nerd" archetype from Atlantis' Milo on down...

@KateEMcCann Titanic: Ship of Dreams is really interesting. Charts the build up to and the disaster. Really fascinating, narrated by Paul McGann with good insights from historians etc.

@BenSTravis Going on Tuesday with my 12 year old son. We’ve been watching the original and sequel trilogies at the cinema over the last six weeks. He loved Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. He’s a sequel-head.

You know the *other* rule: if the local cinema is showing The Rise Of Skywalker, you go and see The Rise Of Skywalker. (Good movie.)

@kayribeiro @PilotTVPod Got to be Ghostwatch. Terrified me as a kid as I thought the whole thing was completely real. Getting people like Parky and Sarah Greene involved made it so authentic. One of those programmes that a whole generation will remember.

@itslizhannah Love Long Shot so much. A real proper unashamed rom com. What was it like writing within that genre, trying to make it original while still hitting some of the beats that people might expect.

@MuseZack My 12 year son and I love this show - one of the few things we watch together. So rare to see a family/kids show with so much character decelopment.

The adventure continues! And it's okay if you still haven't entirely gotten used to Gigachad Ben-- I haven't quite, either.

@NickdeSemlyen Not sure if you listen, but the Lonely Island and Seth Meyers podcast is a brilliantly entertaining listen into the making of their SNL digital shorts.

Just watched the *other* film called Saturday Night about the making of Saturday Night Live. The one that’s a documentary, directed by James Franco. It’s scruffily shot (what’s with the night-vision cameras?) but pretty gripping for its insights into what goes into a week of making SNL. (Spoiler: lots of stress and anxiety!) And a reminder of the murderer’s row of talent on the show circa 2008. Hader, Forte, Samberg, Mulaney, Armisen, Thompson! Plus Wiig and Poehler but for some reason they’re barely in this doc. Especially enjoyable to see Bill Hader cold-pitch a Vinny Vedecci skit to John Malkovich. For anyone curious to see it, it’s on YouTube.

@kayribeiro With Frasier back soon, do you think there’s still a place for the multi-cam sitcom or has had it had its day. Shows like The Royale Family, The Office (US and UK) heralded a new way to film sitcoms and two decades later the traditional studio audience style has almost vanished.

Recording the pod with Sophie and Boyd in approx 3 mins. Has anyone got an easy-to-answer-don’t-need-to-prep q for Pilot to avoid getting scolded by the ball and chain (BH)? Thaaaanks!
