@Dr_Done_ Pretty sad to see. I completely disagree with this paramedic. A good paramedic doesn’t replace a good doctor. I think a paramedic is fantastic at the initial care (core) and some extended care (Para Prac) until a Doctor provides continuous care (Realm of medicine)

I’m so sick of the disrespect from HCPs, enabled by colleges and regulators, of the training doctors do Why train as a paramedic if you wanted to work in GP? PAs are only physical manifestation of this sentiment and why it’s gone so far, but we have other problems.

I’m still thinking about this. Paramedic practitioner tells @mrjamesob: 🔸It doesn’t matter that he hasn’t studied medicine 🔸He’s better than doctors because he looks up from his screen 🔸He’s essentially done medicine vocationally as he was questioned ‘for weeks’ ☠️ ☠️ ☠️

@GlenwrightCook @BillLord2 Standardising a test is the enemy of advancing Knowledge It pushes the standards down People turn around to their lecturers and say “I don’t need to know this, it’s no in the national exam” And we pull our hair out because yes you DO need to know this to be a good paramedic

@SeanScottHarvey No, the Paramedic title is a 4 year degree, we have other names and abbreviations for the other qualifications (ECT, ECP, ILS, BLS, etc) When you're an ECP/Paramedic, you're an Independent Practitioner and work under your own license.

Hypothetical scenario: if the initial paramedic degree was 4 years instead of 3 years for a bachelor, what additional content would you add to the degree? Interested to hear your thoughts. #Paramedic #FOAMed
