I was talking with someone at a startup building “the agentic layer” who was excitedly telling me about how their agents would seamlessly navigate/extract/aggregate data from a customer’s various SORs I just stopped him and was like “Why do you think these SORs would let you do that?” He didn’t have a good answer. He was just like “but it’s the customer’s data they can do what they want!” Lotta people about to learn the hard way how the Enterprise works

@amitisinvesting They were always behind on building data centers, maybe that was the problem 😂 In terms of tech that they built that other clouds like AWS and GCP sell Presto is sold as AWS Athena Dataswarm became Airflow which is MWAA and Cloud Composer CassandraDB etc.

@SeattleDataGuy I also wondered why the B2B services business was not a bigger thing…ads are great but feels like the enterprise was never thought of. Maybe this is the opportunity now with compute.

$META so…Zucks going after GCP, AWS, and Azure now? makes sense…all this extra compute…can easily monetize it with the seeming unrelenting demand meta becomes a cloud play?

Last week, I published a deep dive on how I run system design interviews for data engineers, based on 100s interviews I’ve been involved in (both as an interviewee and as an interviewer) across four tech companies. The TL;DR: start at a high level, then progressively dive deeper

Got to put on my chef hat after a decade of being out of the game for a fundraiser dinner that my pastor asked me to lead. Nearly 500 plates, 70 people, only one month of planning and so much help from an amazing group of volunteers. Success!

when you invest in all of these companies can you make these kinds of tweets as a "third party observer?" yc is affiliated with replit, emergent, and taskade (at least Google says so)

@rqobela Yeah, the best query performance for analytics that I've ever seen was off someones MongoDB instance...is anything more beautiful than Mongo aggregate queries

Name one major tech company still using SQL in 2025. You can't. They all migrated to NoSQL because the scaling problem is unsolvable with relational databases. MongoDB handles what PostgreSQL chokes on.

We did a thing: three amazing data engineers and I answered the 10 most-asked questions on r/dataengineering. These genuine insights help you understand the current state of #dataengineering. Obviously, I'm biased since I pulled together the questions & answered them myself.
