The Colorado judge created a wall of findings too high for anyone to scale and then tossed Trump a lifeline too weak and frayed for anyone to use. She found him guilty of trying to terminate the Constitution he swore as president to defend and held that would bar anyone else from running for president. But she then held the Framers left a loophole in the wall they built to protect our republic by naming the president as the one officer who could engage in insurrection against the Constitution without losing the chance to run again!

The numbers he sites are incorrect, so why such specific numbers? I’m at once struck by “there’s no way he would purposely do this!” and “what are the chances this is a coincidence?” Aside from that, I’m thoroughly turned off by politicians who constantly talk about how everything is unfair for them. (Sound familiar?) it’s a pathology.

@SheriffJCooper So what do you do with the license plate data that you don't use? Sharing that data out of state in support of repressive laws does not sound like justice. If a license plate is run and no warrant is currently active for that person shouldn't that data be discarded immediately?

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) continues to editorialize legislation as fact, when they clearly have not read the law. I voted for SB 34, which requires individuals to be notified only if ALPR data is breached and prohibits the sale of ALPR data (which we have never done). The bill, and amendments to California Civil Code Section 1798.90.55(b) still allows us to share information with other law enforcement agencies on criminal matters. As mentioned in May, we use information from ALPR data to help investigate serious crimes like homicide, kidnappings, human trafficking, and drug trafficking to name a few. Criminals are not aware of jurisdictional boundaries, much less state lines. The bill and this law has absolutely nothing to do with reproductive rights. My record on women’s and reproductive rights has been strong throughout my time in the State Assembly, and nothing has changed since becoming Sheriff. EFF has a track record of protecting child molesters, fentanyl traffickers, rapists and murderers. Perhaps they should focus more on helping victims, rather than continuing to shield criminals from prosecution.

@Adam_Karpiak I hate these studies and articles that try to make perdition or conclusion from a small sample. We took 10k people and asked them X. All of this can be said in the inverse as well for non remote work. Just slightly change the focus. It is tailored to get out this message.
