Today, our nation marks #NationalLawEnforcementAppreciationDay. A single day is not enough to express the depth of our gratitude for the law enforcement officers and agents who risk their lives to keep our communities safe and secure.

It’s a dangerous situation with evacuation orders impacting thousands. Please listen to your local officials and evacuate if asked to do so.

The fires raging in LA are devastating. Today, @POTUS approved a major disaster declaration to deliver immediate life-saving resources to those in the affected areas.

I am being frequently briefed on the wildfires in west Los Angeles. My team and I are in touch with state and local officials, and I have offered any federal assistance that is needed to help suppress the terrible Pacific Palisades fire. Earlier tonight, FEMA approved a Fire Management Assistance Grant to support areas that are impacted and help reimburse the state of California for the immediate firefighting costs. My Administration will do everything it can to support the response.   I urge the residents of the Pacific Palisades and the surrounding areas of Los Angeles to stay vigilant and listen to local officials.

Since 2012, @FEMA's Youth Preparedness Council has brought together young leaders to promote resilience in communities across America.

This new resource draws from our experiences helping state and local leaders adopt AI technologies in their own work. Safely harnessing the potential of #GenAI requires collaboration across govt, industry, academia & civil society to foster a responsible culture of innovation.

Today, I convened @VP and my homeland security team to discuss the investigations into the terrorist attack in New Orleans, and the car explosion in Las Vegas. We're making every resource available to law enforcement to ensure there are no remaining threats to Americans.

Our hearts break for the families of those whose lives were lost and our prayers are with those recovering from injuries they suffered. We are grateful to the first responders for their bravery and urge the public to be vigilant. (2/2)
