The latest Moody's downgrade, with a negative outlook, is yet another wake-up call that the NDP under David Eby is wrecking British Columbia's finances. You can't rack up record deficits like $13.3 billion this year, balloon debt from under $90 billion to over $155 billion in no time, and keep pretending everything's fine. Moody's is calling out the "entrenched" deficits and poor fiscal choices straight from Eby's playbook, reckless spending, no real plan to balance the books, and higher borrowing costs that hit every taxpayer. This is bad management under David Eby. British Columbians are paying more in taxes and interest while getting less value. We need real leadership that stops the borrowing binge and gets us back to responsible budgeting, not more NDP fantasy promises. Time for change before it's too late. #bcpoli

You think the problem is long wait times? The real problem is worse. The BC government isn’t even measuring specialist waitlists. Those “10-month waits”? 👉 Just surveys of doctors. No real tracking. No real data. You can’t fix what you don’t measure. Right now, they’re not even trying.

📢 Today, Inclusion Canada welcomes Alberta’s introduction of Bill 18—legislation that would limit assisted death to end-of-life circumstances within the province of Alberta’s health system. Since Track 2 MAiD was introduced, over 2,000 Canadians have died. These are not abstract numbers. They are people who may have needed support—not assisted death. Now we need national reform. All Canadians deserve equal protection. #RepealTrack2MAiD Read our media release here - 👇 inclusioncanada.ca/post/inclusion…

Five years ago, on March 17th 2021, the federal government granted people with disabilities who are not dying of natural causes special (discriminatory) access to assisted suicide through Track 2 MAiD (medical assistance in dying). At the time, our CEO, Krista Carr was widely quoted as saying “this is our worst nightmare.” It still is. If March 17th raises difficult feelings for you, you’re not alone. Today, at Inclusion Canada, we’re continuing work on our Charter Challenge. We’re promoting the fact that Canada must repeal Track 2 MAiD to become compliant with the CRPD (Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities). And, we’re advising the government not to legalize MAiD for mental illness in 2027. Someday, may this be history.

For far too long, Eby and the BC NDP have allowed and empowered unelected band chiefs to hold our economy hostage. Race-based laws are blocking B.C.'s prosperity. DRIPA must be repealed, and the Musqueam Agreements must be rescinded immediately.
Juno News@junonewscom

Premier Eby says amendments to DRIPA, on Indigenous relations, are delayed because of an ongoing court appeal. He plans to introduce the changes soon. "If we want to grow the economy, we need strong partnerships with First Nations," Eby says. "It's required by the Constitution."

inclusion Canada is supportive of Bill S-228, which would clarify that forced and coerced sterilization is aggravated assault. We want to see it receive royal assent. Under Alberta and British Columbia’s eugenic sexual sterilization laws, which were repealed in the 1970s, at least 3000 people were sterilized. Some, now seniors, are following Bill S-228, including a member of our Board of Directors who was sterilized at an institution for people with an intellectual disability. As written, Bill S-228 would protect people with an intellectual disability of all sexes. This is vitally important, because people with an intellectual disability continue to be sterilized today. Thank you to journalist Maddi Dellplain for including our CEO Krista Carr in this @HealthyDebate piece that provides various perspectives. healthydebate.ca/2026/03/topic/…

This news story serves as another cautionary tale. Further example of how Canada's assisted suicide law has gone way too far and must be scaled back. Parliament must say no to expanding Medical Assistance in Dying and also Repeal Track 2 which discriminates against persons with disabilities. Did you know, Track 2 has claimed the lives of 2,050 people from 2021-2024. These individuals weren't dying. nationalpost.com/news/families-…

Today marks 16 years since Canada ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). This December will also mark the 20th anniversary of the Convention’s adoption by the United Nations. The CRPD was created to ensure the full and equal enjoyment of human rights by people with disabilities and to promote respect for their inherent dignity. These milestones offer an important opportunity to pause and ask: Are we living up to the commitments we made? When the Convention was adopted, it marked a turning point — a shared global commitment to dignity, equality and belonging for people with disabilities. It affirmed that people with disabilities are rights-holders and active participants in society. But commitments on paper are not enough. Governments must demonstrate the leadership, accountability and action required to translate the Convention’s principles into real change in people’s lives. As we reflect on the past 16 years since Canada’s ratification, we recognize that progress has been made. But significant barriers remain. Inclusion Canada will continue to work to ensure that Canada fully implements the CRPD and delivers on equality and inclusion. The journey toward full inclusion is far from over. Canada made a legally binding commitment when it ratified the CRPD. Realizing that commitment requires sustained leadership, accountability and action. That accountability must start by repealing Track 2 Medical Assistance in Dying, implementing a coordinated deinstitutionalization strategy, ensuring consistent policies on inclusive education, and addressing the disproportionate poverty of people with disabilities. #CRPD

A joint committee of Parliament has been named with 10 MPs and 5 Senators to give recommendations on the future of Canada's assisted suicide law. Inclusion Canada CEO Krista Carr spoke with Postmedia News today. She called on Parliamentarians to repeal Track 2 of Medical Assistance in Dying and not widen any further access. Instead, Carr says governments should address the systemic economic and social issues impacting persons with disabilities. Examples include the need for better income supports, improved housing, employment and health access among other priorities. Thanks to @rmohamed_yow for including us in his story on the committee's upcoming work. We appreciate the opportunity to give a perspective on behalf of the 300+Inclusion groups throughout Canada. nationalpost.com/news/canada/sp… #cdnpoli #MAID

Today in the Legislature, I tabled a petition signed by 1,621 people calling on the government to immediately increase the shelter allowance for Persons with Disabilities. Only 25 percent of PWD recipients have access to low-income housing, leaving most to compete in the private rental market while facing barriers to employment and higher health-related costs. When the shelter allowance doesn’t match the cost of rent, people living with disabilities are pushed into instability, unsafe housing, or homelessness. This government has demonstrated it can find funding when it aligns with its political interests. But when it comes to people living with disabilities, they continue to be overlooked. You cannot pick winners and losers in an affordability crisis, especially when the people affected are the most vulnerable.

Honestly shocked. The BC Conservatives just voted to legalize discrimination based on race, sex and other characteristics. They have voted to stop other bills at first reading during this parliament, but not this one.

MAID is reserved for terminally ill patients who face certain death. Painful, agonizing death without dignity. If the patient chooses, with approval from physicians they can arrange their own time of death so they don’t have to suffer to the end. This guy is a lying sack of 💩.

There have been more people killed by the Canadian government assisted su1cide program this year than the totality of every American mass shooting in America's history (It's only February)
