@UnityCodeMonkey How does someone even come to the conclusion, that they need math? If you're interested, wouldn't you just google "how do I start programming?" And by the time you watch your first "hello world" tutorial, you would realize, it's just a weird looking language.

"I suck at math, can I learn programming?" This is a comment I see every once in a while, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY! Math isn't really all that important for programming, (unless you're doing graphics programming from scratch where you do need hardcore matrix math) I'm not very good at math myself. Programming is all about LOGIC which is quite different. You need to think like "ok so here I need to store this data in a collection ,then cycle through all elements in the collection and do something to each element", there's no math involved anywhere in that common task. The most math you need in programming, and specifically game development, is really just basic trigonometry. For example calculating a direction vector is: targetPosition - currentPosition; or moving an object currentPosition += moveVector * Time.deltaTime; So if you suck at math then don't worry! Yes you can still learn programming and make awesome games! Best of luck!

These are not just ordinary food props, these are part of my #indiegame weapon arsenal. Just throw them into enemies faces! Of course you can eat them too, like normal people, but that's no fun.

It's a great #gamedev experience, when your first demo level slowly starts to look like an actual level, and you got rid of all prototype blocking and placeholder assets.

One thing that makes every game better: RAGDOLL! Especially if it breaks every single bone of the character like this. #gamedev #indiedev

@GO_MilesDev Of course gimmicks are great. And can even be, that extra little cherry on top, or the little things you don't miss, but love when it's there. Like flushing toilets in FPS games. I was just curious :)

@SelfConPotato While I'd call this a core feature, don't be afraid to make gimmicks! You can survive rollovers, rotate to surfaces, stabilize your momentum, and even get a massive boost in your jump. All of that from a spinny doohickey!

Finally replaced my placeholder character with a custom one. Including modular system for swapping clothes. And didn't have to implement all character logic from scratch again, thank the #Unreal god. Now I can do some programming again.

@TopoWeaverIO Maybe you can add some shadows beneath the car? Doesn't feel like the car is actually touching the ground without. :)

@kitoahin3D Looks funny how the entire body stays completely stiff while floating. 😅 Are there other tail based abilities?

@runishopess For an looped idle animation I think it's to much side to side movement. I would make it just face one direction, like an over exaggerated breathing animation, and add this animation only once every 5 seconds. Then you can also add small variations, that play randomly. :)

I'm working on a new base character mesh for my game. Left: from #blender human base meshes asset pack. Right: my modified version, should better fit the intended art style. #indiedev #gamedev

I set up a greenscreen photo studio inside Unreal Engine so I can make some high quality marketing material for my game. 😛

@AntonKrasny @colin_k Or maybe make it that it only crits under specific circumstances. So if you hit it from a certain direction, or after you hit it with some other weapon first. So it becomes more a strategic thing, instead of hoping to get a lucky hit.

@colin_k How about introducing a critical hiit for the anti-armor missiles? When a crit procs - it one-shots the Humvee; otherwise, it takes an additional missile. This adds unpredictability and fun when it procs several times in a row

Should the anti-armor missiles one-shot a Humvee? They do extra damage to armored targets but we might need to make them more powerful across the board. I know y'all are going to quote some real missile stats, let's hear it 😄
