I’ve never read a book that punched me in the gut, made me feel a fire in my belly and an ache in my heart quite like this one.
It made me think of kids I’ve taught, made me question whether I did enough.
All teachers should read this.

Finally asked at Drs about ADHD diagnosis (after years of procrastinating/months of forgetting to make an appointment) I eventually managed to collect the screening questionnaire left for me at Drs reception. I put the form ‘somewhere safe’ and have now lost it. I rest my case!🤣

On #InternationalWomensDay and beyond. my lap is large enough to hold the girls that I’ve made.
My voice is loud enough to shout when their needs aren’t meant in a system that seems to aim to frustrate.

Things that distract pupils and disrupt learning more than phones:
- Hunger
- Mental ill-health
- Cold, crumbling buildings
- Teaching staff shortages
- Inadequate SEND provision
When will the government address the real problems instead of repackaging what schools do already?
