@Eesy20 @Jonathan_K_Cook You know in many instances banks CANT tell you why it closed accounts because, especially in crime related instances as it constitutes tipping off. They also can’t just release information pertaining to other customers because that takes them down the data breach route.

Yorkshire Building Society appear to have shut down the account of a couple – he's a former barrister – for being pro-Palestine activists. YBS urgently need to explain themselves. If they don't, they must feel the power of a consumer boycott.

People going to a bank to withdraw THEIR OWN money for their own purpose is the rule. Getting scammed is the exception. A bank doesn’t have the responsibility to protect from an external scam.🤷🏾‍♂️

It’s in the T&Cs agreed to with all UK banks, they’re also regulated by the FCA in this respect. 2500 for a cash transaction for something you’ve no details of? massive red flag.

He's a middle-aged man with a clear intent for the money (take cash, negotiate and buy), so this is taking the nanny state several steps too far.
