Two Puerto Rican brothers, U.S. citizens from Connecticut were harassed while landscaping in a Middletown neighbourhood. Jose Martin (owner of J. Martin Landscaping) and his brother were trimming trees and cleaning a customer's yard when a couple confronted them over noise. The pair yelled insults, demanded to see work visas, accused them of being illegal, and said, "This is why we need a border wall right here." Jose stayed calm, recorded the encounter on his phone, and called police. The brothers, Puerto Rico natives who have lived in Connecticut for decades, needed no visas as American citizens. Robert Shaw, 62, and Sharon Bourgeois-Williams, 58, were charged with disorderly conduct. The mayor condemned the incident as unrepresentative of the community.
