@SteveBroach any legislation re ATOS prioritising their safety over disabled person they are assessing? Only notified today for 16yr old with ASD of appointment next Tuesday, reason given for refusal of home assessment was past aggression (due to anxiety).

@SenStormer This does not seem to be supportive of a disabled persons needs at all. Surely they should be making reasonable adjustments to ensure any assessment is carried out with as little stress as possible for the person being assessed? Though nothing surprises me where @DWP is concerned

Good news. St Helens Council has overturned its decision to charge for #SEND transport. One of the reasons they cite is "the possibility of a legal challenge and the Council being subject to judicial review". It seems we're starting to make a difference.

It’s already been stated on official LA minutes that this is something they are looking to do.

The majority of parents of children with SEND will struggle to find £1k for Ed Psych report or. £250 (& vat) hourly legal advice fees, especially when most are forced to quit employment to care for child.
