Africa has really produced mysteriously callous leaders. In 1979, Jean-Bédel Bokassa of the Central African Republic (CAR) ordered the arrest and massacre of over 100 schoolchildren who refused to buy school uniforms from his wife because they were too expensive. In 2026, the President from a certain West African country sits and watches his citizens murdered in their hundreds weekly, but looks away. Every decade, Africa appears to have a special breed of terrible political rulers!✍️

My husband lost his dad last year March and he traveled for the burial, before then our Pastor has told us he dreamt that a child fell into the well. And within that period, we were digging two wells, one in the church and one in our house both unfinished. Fast forward to when my husband traveled to bury his dad, one a Sunday evening, after church, I was inside with my little baby, and my three older sons were outside playing. Suddenly, my second son ran in and said he can't find his younger brother, I stood up and ask him to soro soke. He said he was riding their bicycle, he turn and didn't see his immediate younger brother again. I jumped up and my mind went straight to the well. I got there and found my son at the bottom of the well filled with water to his neck, I could only see his head, he said mummy I am sinking, my heart skipped, my husband wasn't home, how do I explain that he went to bury his dad only to return to a dead son. I called my two eldest sons to get me the ladder in the house, that day, if I was going to die, I was ready to lay my life down for my boy. I took the ladder with how heavy it was, I held it in-between the well, and told him to climb, where that strength came from till today I don't know. I held the ladder and he climbed, that was how I brought him out, if you see how I was shaken that day, ha God 😢.

For 99% of human history, the paranoid guy who couldn't sleep because he heard rustling outside the cave was the one who survived the night. The chill guy who couldn't be bothered got eaten by a leopard. Natural selection rewarded hypervigilance, high cortisol, and an overdeveloped threat radar because in 10,000 BC, a false alarm cost you nothing but a missed nap while a missed threat cost you your life. So the genes that made it through are the ones wired to assume the worst. You can see the same pattern everywhere. The people who could store fat efficiently survived the lean winters and famines, passed on their genes, and now those same genes in a world of cheap seed oils, endless processed carbs, and 24/7 food delivery make you pre-diabetic by 35. An adaptation that kept your ancestors alive for 200,000 years is now the leading cause of death in the modern world. Or take intelligence for instance. For most of human history, being smarter meant better resource acquisition, better social status, more mates, more surviving offspring. But in the modern world, the correlation between IQ and fertility has completely flipped. Multiple studies across countries show a consistent negative relationship between cognitive ability and number of children. Higher IQ individuals delay reproduction, pursue more education, overthink the decision to have kids, and end up having fewer or none. The trait that was once the ultimate evolutionary advantage is now selecting itself out of the gene pool. The takeaway here is that the stress response that kept your ancestors alive through ice ages and tribal warfare now fires because your Uber is 4 minutes late. Evolution built you to survive a world that no longer exists but nobody bothered to tell your amygdala.

Did you know that Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, is a sayyid (a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad through his daughter Fatima and son-in-law Ali ibn Abi Talib)? As a Shia cleric who claims this lineage from the Ahl al-Bayt (the Prophet's family), he wears the traditional black turban as a symbol of this honored descent.

BREAKING: Message from Crown Prince @PahlaviReza to the Iranian nation on Khamenei’s death “My fellow compatriots, Ali Khamenei, the bloodthirsty despot of our time, the murderer of tens of thousands of Iran’s bravest sons and daughters, has been erased from the face of history. With his death, the Islamic Republic has in effect reached its end and will very soon be consigned to the dustbin of history. Any attempt by the remnants of the regime to appoint a successor to Khamenei is doomed to fail from the outset. Whoever they place in his stead will have neither legitimacy nor longevity, and will undoubtedly be complicit in the crimes of this regime as well. To the military, law enforcement, and security forces: any effort to preserve a collapsing regime will fail. This is your final opportunity to join the nation, to help ensure Iran’s stable transition to a free and prosperous future, and to take part in building that future. The death of the criminal Khamenei, though it does not avenge the blood that has been spilled, may serve as a balm for the wounded hearts of the grieving fathers and mothers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, and the families of those who gave their lives in Iran’s Lion and Sun National Revolution. Honorable and courageous people of Iran, This may be the beginning of our great national celebration, but it is not the end of the road. Remain vigilant and prepared. The time for a widespread and decisive presence in the streets is very near. Together, united and steadfast, we will bring about the final victory, and we will celebrate Iran’s freedom across our beloved homeland. Long live Iran, Reza Pahlavi”

As part of our continued commitment to easing the daily burdens faced by our people, I am pleased to announce a free cooking gas refill programme for 4,000 residents across the seven wards in Agege. Tomorrow, Saturday, 21 February 2026, we will be topping up 3kg of cooking gas for beneficiaries in all wards. This intervention is designed to cushion the impact of rising gas prices, support vulnerable households, and provide immediate, practical relief at the grassroots. The slots have been fairly distributed across all seven wards, with designated gas stations assigned to ensure accessibility and inclusiveness. The exercise will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis, and beneficiaries are required to come with their personal gas cylinders. Once the allocated slots for a ward are exhausted, the exercise will be concluded at that location. This initiative is one of several people-focused programmes we are implementing to improve quality of life, promote cleaner energy use, and demonstrate that governance must be felt where it matters most, in our homes and communities. Together, we are building a more supportive, greener, and responsive Agege. #agege #avo #avoisworking #anewagegeisrising

When Beethoven passed away, he was buried in a churchyard. A few days later, the town drunk was walking through the cemetery and heard some strange noise coming from the area where Beethoven was buried. Terrified, the drunk ran to get the town priest to come and listen. The priest bent close to the grave and heard some faint, unrecognisable music coming from inside. Frightened, the priest ran to get the town magistrate. When the magistrate arrived, he bent his ear to the ground. He listened for a moment and said, “Ah yes, that’s Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony being played backwards.” He listened for a while longer and said, “There’s the Eighth Symphony, and it’s backwards too. Most puzzling.” So the magistrate kept listening. “There’s the Seventh… the Sixth… the Fifth…” Suddenly, the realisation of what was happening dawned on the magistrate. He stood up and announced to the crowd that had gathered in the cemetery, “My fellow citizens, there’s nothing to worry about! It’s just Beethoven decomposing.” I'm so funny 😁 😂

Just after I’d given birth to my twins, I went to the supermarket and the cashier - probably in her 50s - said she was a mum of twins too. ‘My husband left me the day they were born and we never saw him again’ she said matter-of-factly. I’ve never forgotten it. Or her. My heart goes out to Jesy and her babies. And I can’t write what I think about her amoeba of a fiance as I’d probably be arrested.

If you think this is wrong, look into any preferred sector of your choice and compare the modus operandi of the black man with that of the white man. Religion o, politics o, education o, technology o, health o, economy o etc. When you’re done with the comparison, tell yourself the truth. Results do not lie.

Interesting reaction to this tweet. People have said what I want to say. I know of a man that wanted to buy property from my friend. He was negotiating with my friend, and his wife was there pretending to be absent-minded. My friend was calling a higher price, and the buyer wanted to knock it down, well. Buyer then decided to ask his wife. Madam said he should just pay and wrap it up. My friend was happy as Oga did transfer. My guy never reach house when madam sent account number for her cut. 😭😭
