I bid what I bid to try and make money and tbh every time I fud that one token on eth it goes up so I think it’s holders should want me to do that 😭 just don’t get why they need to pvp every solana token as their narrative and that frustration prob helped me bid this. I didn’t bundle from other wallets or anything before I trade from a single fomo wallet to try and make money on whatever dogshit all day and then I tweet a ton about the stuff I’m really convicted on and stay autistically convicted on it (which involves bein somewhat of a my bags maxi ofc but I rlly do try and get good bags first). Hope some people who read the fomo thesis are there were a few Xs to take advantage of. Many people were pleasantly surprised by how we managed to exit our position without damaging the community. This is the summary. When we set up the process for accepting crypto donations at @stjude, we set the criteria that we would convert the assets donated as soon as reasonably possible. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is focused on leading the way that the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. While we (the crypto industry) may wish the world would leap forward and be more on-chain, that isn't how it currently exists and we need dollar denoted currencies to run the hospital. Nearly 2 years ago, .5% of ASTEROID was sent to the St. Jude ETH wallet. We didn't have a way to readily convert it into US Dollars, so we left it in the wallet. Due to external factors, the token went from a market cap of ~$20k to over $150M. Our position fluctuated between $500k and $1M in valuation. I had several messages asking if what we were going to do, and I responded to a few that we were figuring it out. The next 48 hours were a whirlwind of approvals, but I knew two things. We would need to go to a DEX (a first for our mission) and that we would need to avoid hurting the community. Leadership understood and gave approval for the approach and we proceeded. Some people may disagree with how we did it, but I believe it to be the best option out of the ones that we had. Over 2 days, we proceeded to exit the position in 12 varying sized tranches. During the entire process, we kept an eye on liquidity of the token and did our best to ensure it never dropped below $3.5M and that the Net Buy pressure didn't exceed $75k. One of the worst mental biases in trading is fading a coin just because it already pumped. You feel like you missed it, so you convince yourself it’s bearish now or that the r/r isn’t there anymore. But ask yourself: why is it pumping? What’s actually driving it? Where could it head next? What market is it targeting and operating in? What’s the team background, connections, tokenomics, distribution? I’ve fallen into this trap myself many times. The reality is that winners usually keep winning. Instead of fading strength, learn to lean into it. If you missed the early entry, size accordingly and bet on conviction instead of coping yourself out of opportunities. I had an early entry on $KTA around 1.3m mcap before it went on to do a 1500x. I sold way too early for around a 10x, while others who sized in aggressively at 50m+ made multi 7fig and even 8fig pnls. Same thing happened with $VVV. I was extremely early and had good size, and strong conviction. but I was too early. It took almost a year for the thesis to fully play out, and if I simply had the conviction and patience to hold, it would’ve turned into an 13m+ pnl. Early entry matters far less than people think. It becomes a cognitive bias that clouds judgment and makes you miss opportunities you should never miss. Size and conviction trump early entries every single time. Few..
