What a result! Well worth the 3.30 AM rise. Don't let anyone talk it down. 3 goals against the best defence in the league. Also, can we stop the in-fighting about Amorim? The man is gone. Bringing him up, both positively or negatively seriously undermines what Carrick is doing, but also plays down the last couple of matches. Amorim may have been in the process of setting a foundation to build on, but convincing wins against the best teams in England in back to back games, finishing a gameweek in 4th are just objectively things he never managed.

I'm walking on sunshine today. That was brilliant to watch. The game plan was awesome and worked to a tee. It's amazing what happens when players actually apply themselves for 90 minutes. The usual accounts are using it as a way to point score against Amorim, which is really weird in my mind, so I won't bother even addressing that. All I'll say is that if you watched us play C115y off the park and your first thought is about the former head coach, that's without a job, then you need to go out and touch grass. Enjoy the win Reds. I know I'll be watching that game a few times again.

Very tough to stomach this last week. The well of "sensible" ideas that give room for optimism is nearly tapped out. Watched that game and there were times when it felt like Ragnick's United. There's no point crying over spilt milk. The decision has been made and we have to live with it, but we got rid of a manager that the team was fully behind. The performances were there, while the results admittedly weren't. But over a season they right themselves. We've effectively been told that the season is over midway through the season again. Last year it was because there was a long term plan. This year, it's because feelings were hurt and the long term plan is less important than people's egos. It's all a bit shambolic. The interim manager needs to come in (fast) and get these players who will all be hurting and get them to believe in themselves again.

It was NEVER the formation. The back 3 stuck 4 goals past Brighton. It was always the quality of our players, the floor of the squad, the depth is NOT good enough - it was so OBVIOUS to anyone. Sacking the manager, because he asked for some help, any help and telling him to change to a formation THAT IS NOT ANY MORE GUARENTEED to bring results was ridiculous. Still regardless who the manager is the squad still needs investment. This squad will struggle to secure top 5 or european football this season. I really really hope and pray the interim manager whoever it is, can galvanise us.. because right now its flatter than ever. Sensible fans are losing faith. I hope the 4231 works, I hope Mainoo steps up, I hope the players respond and try to salvage this season because right now its looking flat... Amorim Outers are the only HAPPY "fans" right now and that says everything about the state of this club and its "fans". Next up Man City, then Arsenal. A win against either could ignite the 2nd half of the season for us, need Amad and Bryan back and need to get to work on the training pitch.

Same old story, isn't it? The opposition make us work hard to score and we seem to gift them the opportunities to do the same. The usual grifters on here are now saying how we were unlucky to draw, that the performance was good and the change in formation was the reason behind it. Personally, I (@JRad137) didn't see anything too different. Šeško was poor until he scored and then considerably better. How much of that is the system vs self belief? The players being back from injury was great to see and Lacey was great in his cameo. Would've liked to have seen him get a run out against Wolves. Almost the perfect game for him. We will likely hear who the interim is before the Brighton game so hopefully there'll be a little less rustiness for the city game and beyond. Would be a pleasant change to get the new manager bounce in our favour for a change.

Over the last couple of days, we've read about Amorim never going to academy games (he did), how he isolated himself from the players (he hadn't), how players (Martinez as an example) squared up to him because he believed he was ready to play. Most fans saw through it for what it was: PR spin from the club to try and win favour after what has been an embarrassing 18 months. Hearing that Ole is leading the race to become the interim manager. It will bring a legend of the club back. A player that was loved by supporters and just a genuinely lovely human being. It's a very smart move (and a little smoke and mirrors) by the hierarchy. It will ingratiate the fans and the ex-players who played with Ole. Hopefully the likes of Neville, Scholes etc. will be a bit more supportive of the man which is half the battle these days. The challenge will be results and performances. Ole had Carrick and McKenna last time around and even he has always stated how important they were. European football has to be the bare minimum this season. That shouldn't change now. We were asked to throw last season away for a long term project. Doing so again will only highlight how poor the board has been in extending/hiring and then sacking 2 managers and 1 DoF in 2 seasons. Regardless of our personal preferences, we've got to get behind the next manager. We can't have the internal squabble because we wanted someone else. The success of United is paramount and we will only be stronger together.

The timeline is wild right now. Ruben Inners vs Ruben Outers, Ole Inners vs Ole Outers. Everyone has an opinion on every manager and everyone turning nasty as usual. How's about we all just back whoever is crazy enough to give it a shot? No board is perfect, No executive's are perfect, No manager is perfect, what works for other clubs doesnt work for us. We are unique in so many ways but ultimately the one constant is the club, the manager and ALL the players need our support. Stop point scoring and just support FFS

Fuck off Gary - you havn't helped one bit and quite frankly Manchester United supporters are sick to death of hearing your opinions. 18 months ago it was "Manchester United need a manager with a system" Now its "Manchester United need a manager that fits the DNA of the club" How's about Manchester United need the Glazers to fully fuck off? How about stop telling Manchester United what they need when you can't even sort out Salford? How's about Manchester United need you and your shitty employers to stop obsessing and over analysing everything the Utd manager does? How about being fair in your punditry and treating managers of United how you treat managers of Spurs, Liverpool and just about every other club? Just a thought?

It’ll not be apparent straight away but this is a huge backward step. Putting the manager aside, Utds leadership group have essentially forfeited what little credibility they had. The whole concept of rebuild, new ways of working, sticking to a defined plan, joined up thinking from top-to-bottom has been thrown out the window. They’ve basically bottled it, and have contrived to fall for the same external noise that ratcliffe vocally criticised last year. The likes of @GNev2 and co can genuinely go fuck themselves. They will never be happy until one of their own is in charge … their treatment of the man has been nothing short of abhorrent. Relentless less criticism without the merest acknowledgement of how difficult a task the manager had. Him, scholesy and co have been the same with every mgr except Ole. Self-serving and corrosive little weasels the pair of them. As for Amorim, I’m sure he’ll be fine. A genuinely talented young coach who’s time here has been undermined from the outset. Inspite of all the naysayers & football sub-intellects, he absolutely did have Utd on the right track. All the underlying data showed that. The players were playing for him. The bad eggs had been removed. They are 12 points above where they were at the same time last season. All that was needed was patience & some visible support. The only way out was through. Or so I hoped. So depressing to be back here again. I genuinely thought we were on the right path. I fear for the next manager already. How long is long enough for them to show the are good enough? 6 months? 3 months? @manutd the only club on the planet who are aware of the fact they need a rebuild whilst continuing to demand immediate success. Fucking bonkers.

Looking forward to finding out how clueless the next manager is and what the reason for his cluelessness is.

INEOS kept on a manager they had no faith in, openly canvassing Europe for his successor but then armed him with £200m to spend on players he wanted, and changed the backroom staff before sacking him anyway. They axed a sporting director, whose way of working was well established, because he did not fit in with how they wanted him to work. He warned them about selecting a head coach attached to a fixed style of play, which didn’t suit the squad and how expensive it would be to build a quality 3-4-3. They didn’t listen, insisted they believed wholeheartedly in Ruben Amorim’s approach, but then wouldn’t fully back it in the transfer market and asked him to change the tactical principles that attracted them to him. Some “best in class” decision-making…

And the cycle of shit continues... The board have to have a good hard look at themselves. This is now the second manager in as many seasons they've let go, after publicly backing. Considering they were meant to not be knee-jerk, this is setting a terrible precedent. In both cases, the manager was effectively given one transfer window. This isn't the change that INEOS promised when they came in. "Walk in the right direction, don't run in the wrong direction..." They SHOULD wear the blame for this and Wilcox will need to be whiter than white in the coming weeks. That being said, it's a results business and the results just haven't been good enough. He has his fair share of the blame and can't really look to the board for what has been dreadful performances under his reign.

Echoing concerns from the Newcastle game, but my God that was woeful. There were just too many passengers in that team. The manager is not blameless to go away from a system that worked, but the system isn't why we didn't win. A few too many players just did not apply themselves. And it doesn't matter if it's Wolves, you are not going to win games if you don't bloody get your head down and work.

@nickyducky We were due some "xG" luck in defending after the goals we've conceded recently.

@SensibleMUFC Second half SUPER frustrating, especially last 20 mins or so. We were lucky Newcastle are so bad away from home. The chances they had I was sure they were going to get one at least. Agreed though, will absolutely take the win.

Not the prettiest of victories by a long shot, but I'll absolutely take that every day of the week. Comfortably the better team in the first half, and frustrating to see us sit back in the second. The substitutions (Casemiro in particular) were odd, but no real options on the bench and fresher legs were needed. Good to see the young lads get gametime. 3 points in the bag, Wolves next up, and the absentees are piling up. Hopefully Mount is okay, there's no coincidence that our best performances this season are with him in the XI. If not, that'll leave us with a GK, a 6, a 10 and a Dalot in our "best" XI.
