That's why i've always said legacy oracles have only held DeFi back. It constantly tried to make it fit inside a box. That is why I prefer @redstone_defi as the perfect oracle for the next-gen DeFi with Modular design with both push & pull model. Delivering data within milliseconds and a 0 mispricing event.

🚨 @chainlink oracles can get you liquidated?! ⚡️ After the Hyperliquid $XPL perp exploded 200% in minutes, I dug into how ETH/USD oracles behave during volatility. I pulled ~20k data points on mainnet. The results might surprise you 👇1/7

@MyStandard_Adam @chainlink Ofc! That’s why I used a “?” in the title , nice analogy btw If you read the full thread you’d see the TL;DR: x.com/SensoYard/stat… (though yeah, seems most people only read the 1st tweet 😅)

TL;DR: Chainlink ETH/USD oracles shadow Binance almost perfectly. During fast pumps & dumps, brief gaps (~2%) can open, but no worries fellow LINK Marines @ChainLinkGod @ChainlinkBull @ChrisBarrett, most protocols set safe collateral ratios! (Clickbait title ofc.) 👉 Don’t forget to RT & follow @SensoYard for more deep dives! 7/7

But your post says... "chainlink oracles can liquidate you" so it's very much so a finger pointing at link. As Zach says here... The oracle didn't liquidate them, the protocol's decision to not have low latency data feeds is the issue. Its like someone getting into an accident in their Toyota and saying on X, "Toyota Cars can Kill you". Blame driver, not the car x.com/ChainLinkGod/s…

Thanks for the info, I’ll definitely look into it. I always thought only @redstone_defi offered this kind of pull-based oracle. Looks like GMX has actually been using Chainlink Data Streams for a while now! (And ofc push oracles work this way by design and that’s totally fine. My title was just a bit clickbaity 😉)

Chainlink Data Feeds is a push based oracle system, so update speed is limited by the speed/cost of chain and the economics of that feed If low latency is critical, then you would want to use Chainlink Data Streams, a pull-based oracle system, which features sub-second latency data.chain.link/streams

@MyStandard_Adam @chainlink I’m not blaming Chainlink, the feed works exactly as designed. I just wanted to measure the edge cases and see how big the gaps can get in practice. Afaik users don’t pay for the ETH/USD feed, so not sure what you mean by “oracle pricing refresh rate.”

@SensoYard @chainlink You mean devs who try to save money on their oracle pricing refresh rate and choose cheaper options put their users at risk. Chainlink serves a product that works as designed. 100% of the time. This low effort post is disappointing. Blame the protocol not Chainlink.

TL;DR: @chainlink VRF on Arbitrum (~last 2 months) checks out as statistically random. Funds are safu! Shoutout to my fellow LINK Marines @ChainLinkGod @ChainlinkBull 🫡 I’ll keep digging into DeFi + infra security. Follow @SensoYard for more deep dives!

The stats: Chi-square p = 0.721 Entropy = 5.636 / 5.644 (~99.9%) Runs test p = 0.356 Lag-1 autocorr = -0.022 Max streak = 3 👉 Translation: no detectable patterns. The outputs behave just like coin flips.

$LINK has been ripping lately, and it got me thinking about one of its core products: Chainlink VRF. Billions in DeFi, gaming, and NFTs depend on this randomness. But is it actually random? I pulled ~4k VRF results on Arbitrum (block 350M → today) to find out 🧵
