mission-critical infrastructure wins on long-term horizons $link
Kraken@krakenfx

Kraken is deprecating its existing cross-chain provider and migrating to @Chainlink CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infra to secure Kraken Wrapped Bitcoin (kBTC) & all future Kraken Wrapped Assets. Kraken chose Chainlink CCIP because it offers enterprise-grade infrastructure with strict security & risk management requirements, including: • ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certifications • Secure by default architecture • 16 independent nodes • Native rate limits, and more. Together, Chainlink and Kraken can help accelerate the global adoption of crypto by unlocking utility and distribution for all Kraken Wrapped Assets across DeFi. For kBTC customers, no action is required. More details on the migration process to follow on official Kraken channels.

I met a guy on Facebook marketplace while trying to buy an Ohtani card. He told me his life changed course on April 3 so I said please explain. Said he was down to his last $15 and wanted to buy some sleeves at Gamestop for his cards at home. At checkout he finds out it's buy 2 get 1 free! There's a pack of baseball on the counter, so he throws it in Sleeves 2.99 Sleeves 2.99 Sleeves 0.00 Topps Heritage Baseball Fat Pack 6.99 Total 14.33 Topps publishes their odds online. Getting a "red ink auto" from a fat pack is 1 in 5,099. Getting Ohtani's is 1 in 581,286. The math says to buy the sleeves, the man on house money doesn't have to listen. We negotiated a price and when we met up we ended up chilling for a bit. Told me he spent time in prison after making some choices he regrets, got a diploma in there, won a prison basketball championship. Right after he pulled the card he was planning to sell it to buy a bunch of Pokemon and football. Said he changed his mind and was going to renew his license, reactivate his phone, save the rest, maybe a few packs I bought the card raw and sent it off for grading. A few days ago he texted me from a new number, said he got the phone reactivated. Today the card came back from grading and I shot him a text to let him know. He replied that he could drive over to celebrate. Well played my friend

A Stanford lecture just exposed where the ~$650B AI data center spend is actually going and who is quietly capturing the upside They explain why the entire bottleneck has shifted from GPUs to power and what comes next This is a MUST watch for investors:

Money is starting to flow downhill - a critical observation for the next few years. The Mags may make all the money but they are spending it faster than they can make it. Their free cash flows are cratering. Best to follow the money and see who’s getting it. In this case, it’s following the AI trade and, more specifically, the data center and power economies. Make money from capital light business models like ads and software, then redirect it to asset heavy, traditional infrastructure companies. A complete reversal from the last 20 years is underway.

Blockbuster earnings from the Mags…BUT the equal weight is massively outperforming the weighted index today. 🤔

@chamath They are spending money on AI data centers you fucking moron. How does that flow down to the middle class? Higher energy bills? More AI slop everywhere? Jobs being automated? Proof that merit does not equate to wealth. We've been sold a fucking lie.

Bio Protocol designed a novel ADHD drug candidate in 24 hours using AI. First lab test: $500. Full validation: ~$1,500. Pharma spends millions and years to reach the same point. That changes what DeSci can do. Drug development has always been gated by capital, not science. Research gets funded when it aligns with commercial priorities. Plenty of valuable questions never get asked because no one with the budget chose to ask them. DeSci has been working on that gap for years, but the ambition stayed kneecapped by the cost of discovery itself. AI changes the math. With costs this low, a DAO treasury can fund a drug candidate all the way validation with real lab data. Entire categories of research pharma was NEVER going to touch are now within reach. Yet, three problems persister that AI + community funding can't clear alone: - Data inaccessibility: the training data AI needs to validate further sits locked inside pharma companies that treat it as a competitive weapon (Bio and Molecule are building to solve this via Science Beach and other initiatives) - Wet labs: even a well-characterized candidate needs physical validation on biological material. No amount of AI removes this step - Clinical trials: testing on humans still runs on the old capital structure — tens of millions to hundreds of millions. Nothing in the DeSci stack reaches that far yet DeSci gets candidates to the START of that path with something real in hand: a characterized compound with published binding data and a permanent record. That's a different conversation with pharma than a hypothesis and a pitch. There's a cultural current underneath all of this. People using AI to fight their own cancer, treat their pets, research conditions pharma deprioritized. A growing cohort motivated by personal stakes, not commercial ones. DeSci pairs cleanly with this trend, giving hope that personal motivation, not profit, can soon play a larger role in discovery.

Co-founded an AI data center co last year. Had an early take that hyperscalers would begin to focus on tier II, III cities and smaller increments of power (sub 100MW), question was how quickly. Went from "call back when you have 300MW" to "we will take whatever you have" within 12 months. Giddy up.

Chainlink CCIP transferred ~$450 million of value between blockchains from April 19-20th. chainlinkecosystem.com/ccip-metrics And now it's passing the highest level of audits for use by the world's leading institutions. This is in a week where we saw an inferior bridging solution exploited for ~$292 million. When it comes to security, compromising isn't an option. Just use Chainlink $LINK

I've gotten a lot of fud/flack for talking about @Chainlink. I've been building my position the past few months, and my cost basis is around $8.50 - $9.00. I can definitely feel for legacy Link Marines that have held through several cycles and are frustrated about price action. Personally, I trade narratives, try to time bottoms and high conviction plays.. I was early in $SOL.. sub $2, and was equally early in $ZEC sub $20... I can rattle off many others, but here we are. In my opinion, regulation and institutional adoption will dominate the narrative over the next few years. I view $LINK as a pick-and-shovel-type play with massive structural utility as both worlds collide. While many argue about the negative aspects of LINK's tokenomics. I strongly believe that revenue/adoption will balance everything out, and the next 12 months will be the culmination of everything that Chainlink has been building the past 8.5 years. This is a long-winded way of saying "steady lads," when it's time, you'll know. Position accordingly and sit on your hands, the next cycle will be lightyears more explosive.
